2024 Philadelphia Eagles - AJ’s book club read for next week: “Serenity Now” by Frank Costanza. (35 Viewers)

100% he knew what he was doing. I listened to it live. He wasn't asked about Jalen or AJ. They opened up with the typical, "hey, you got a win and Saquon just broke the Eagles all time rushing record, yada yada." And BG was just like, "something's ****ed up between AJ and Jalen and they need to fix it NOW." He absolutely had an agenda-he saw whatever bs was happening behind the scenes last year and wasn't gonna let it fester like it did then.
If this is true, we have to believe Graham is an idiot. Good player, but a moron.
Graham has been in this locker room for 15 years and has been a leader for most of that time. He’s no idiot. He must believe that there needs to be a push to get these guys to work their **** out. Again he was a witness to whatever bs happened that we can only guess at. I don’t agree with this method, but maybe the rip-the-bandaid plan is the right one? If anyone has insight it’s him.

Never, never, never air dirty laundry to the media. What was he thinking? He’s a leader. He should have just approached the 2 players directly about it and nip it in the bud. I can’t imagine how Hurts and Brown feel about him at this point.

They must be livid with him. I would be.

There is not a doubt in my mind that he's approached them many times before. You ever see the mic'd up videos with him? He has no problem talking **** and here in Philly he hosts a radio show the evening after every game. He wears his heart on his sleeve and speaks from the heart. He definitely has broached this subject with them-probably did last year as well. But he bit his tongue then and this time he's clearly not.

I'll hop in as a Steelers fan.

We had half a chance with Pickens, but not so much without - UNLESS you let the D and TO's control the outcome.

You can run on us, and with Barkely's speed gamebreakers will be there - but you better hold on to the ball.
You can throw on us - but don't miss and don't get cute.

And I would not sell out to stop Najee/Warren. Wilson can read a D and make plays still.

This and the Bills/Lions at 4 also - worth setting up 2 TV's.

(I've had Hurts 3 times, AJ twice, Elliot before Sirianni swore off FG's, and 2-3 of the pre-Barkely RB's. Took Chase over Barkely at 1:7)

I'd say enjoy - but like Steelers fans that's not a thing :). And somehow I'll be airborne while this game happens.

I'll hit yinz up after the late Sunday replay

Yep. He wasn’t thinking and made a boneheaded move without thinking.

Brandon Graham on his weekly WIP appearance just dropped this bombshell about Hurts and AJ Brown:

“They were friends, but things have changed…I don’t know the whole story.”
Gotta love it. Leave it to a veteran leader out for the season to stir the pot. 😂
Maybe he did it intentionally. Unintentional/intentional leak so they hash things out. I’ve seen this before in club soccer and most of the time it works. Or maybe BG us just fed up with the BS from certain players
This was my first thought. BG doesn't have to worry about how leaking this affects his future, so get it out in the open so it has to be addressed.

Didnt think about this. Smart
Yep and if it works out he looks good and if not it paints AJ more in the wrong as it seems Hurts is at least trying to calm things again

I don’t see the upside to bringing it up to be hashed out. There’s a lot of guys on an NFL team and I’m sure many don’t get along. This is starting to move towards a “Jalen isn’t throwing to an open AJ cause they don’t like each other” and that’s not it. Hurts is just gonna miss reads or be late on them. It’s what he’s done before and after AJ got here. AJ being a competitor is gonna want the ball. It’s as simple as that.
I don’t think it’s black and white as you paint. Those I talked too over the summer hinted at deeper issues with this team. No details but it seems the talent is good enough to hide the issues for only so long. Either guys need to act professional, Nick needs to take some control or at seasons end Howie should just rid the people who don’t want to play ball and act like part of a team. Easier said than done though.

I see a bunch of analysts destroying Hurts for poor decisions and displaying an inability to pull the trigger on open guys. It’s like he has the yips
Go back and read Greg Cossel’s scouting report of him. This is just who he is and how he’s been. No yips, just not a great QB at throwing the ball.
This has been an issue for yrs now. He’s just not great at reading pre and post snap or diagnosing certain blitzes. That with his inconsistency is what’s going to prevent me or a lot of people really ever saying he’s up there with Burrow and Mahomes and even Herbert in the long run each season. It’s not a bad thing but people need to start looking at more favorable expectations of Hurts these days. His ceiling was that SB run MVP year probably won’t really ever match again.

Hurts is at least good QB and player when you go more realistic with the guy. He’s basically the same player as the guy opposite him this week in Wilson with less leadership and lockeroom flaws

I suspect the Eagles may throw slightly more this game after all the Hurts/AJ drama this week. They need to find a happy balance between running and passing. I'd imagine they be around 27 pass attempts on Sunday.

I don't recall the Eagles selling out to stop the run in any games this year. They mostly use 4 man fronts and if they get gashed they may move to a 5 man front, but they're not going to load 8 in the box as the gameplan.

Deeper issues than having people dislike each other? This is getting juicy now!

This is nuts

The Pittsburgh Steelers last win against the Philadelphia Eagles on the road was on October 24, 1965.

And that win didn't even count b/c it wasn't in the Super Bowl era!
The win didn't count for what? A win is a win. Do we not count wins/losses from 1933 on?
Haha sort of an inside joke referencing the '48, '49 and 1960 championship teams (the only team to ever beat Lombardi in a playoff game) and the fact most rival fans do not acknowledge them bc "not Super Bowls" despite that Super Bowl trophy being named after that guy our team was the only one to ever beat in the playoffs

But I digress

Should be a tight game this Sunday!

I personally don't care. I barely listen to sports radio anymore and it's **** like this that completely tunes me out. I watch the games. Everything else is noise.
I stopped right before Andy was let go here. I realized at least in Philly our sports radio sucks. WFAN I’ll listen to on Satelite when I have time and for the most part those guys have actual convos plus as much as I like football it was nice a few yrs ago listening to them talk about the World Cup and giving it a serious 15-20 mins section plus other things.

With Philly radio it’s all about hot takes and half these guys don’t know ****. The former players also seem to talk down to anyone who doesn’t agree with them and the host.

I listened to Josh Innes when he was here from time to time with Tony Bruno when I could. And that’s the last time I gave it any thought.

It’s all clickbait and bs and when you get a rare caller who tries to be serious and knows their stuff, the host talks over them if they disagree, hangs up and then they and the next caller have a 3 mins circle jerk how the past caller sucks.

Yeah it seems like certain guys went rogue on coaching staff, more about themselves and other things. Then you had all the Hurts stuff but unfortunately many Klutch clients do too much to appease their agents and I think Hurts needed to find a happy balance of Football/teammate and time spent doing his stuff for Klutch if that makes sense. Like certain vets seemed to think Hurts new deal changed him and didn’t seem to care as much about the team. But again I think Hurts was trying to balance the new found fame and there were convos with the vets about it. Kelce also took time to give him some pointers over the off season despite being retired.

So there is stuff that was cleared up in the offseason but obviously there was a lot and couldn’t be fixed in one offseason. It’s still a consistently flowing process being worked on. Obviously this seems like one of those issues (hurts/brown) that’s going to take some time to figure out.

So A.J. Brown just said:

- Him and Hurts are good

- Brandon Graham misspoke and was being emotional

- The “passing” comment on Sunday wasn’t directed at Hurts but the passing game in general

- He’s fine with a heavy run game and wants to win a Super Bowl
Sounds like the PR team/agent texted him key words to say honestly.

A Shot little doc on Nick and his former college coach.

There’s a rumor that the Eagles are selling a part of the team to raise money for a new stadium - potentially with a retractable roof. The Eagles could host Super Bowls, Final Fours, and other big events
This has been in the works for awhile. I have some industry insight into this. While the link is a nice stadium it is completely obsolete from a big dollar profit generation standpoint. It’s lacking in the uber-luxury super-expensive club box levels that the newer stadiums all have. The trend is to go more expensive across the board but to really push the envelope when it comes to the wealthy boxes.

That and the lack of a dome precludes them from ever hosting a Super Bowl. I’ve believed from the moment that we were tapped to open the season in Brazil that Lurie conceded to that for a guarantee that they’d get a Super Bowl the minute they build a new stadium. That time is quickly approaching.

My son's business is in talks with the Eagles for a business partnership so hopefully, I'll get to attend a game in one of those new luxury boxes.

They had that one Super Bowl up in the swamp several years back, but I honestly don't remember how the league said it went. Was that a failed experiment?

Jalen's and Nick's presser's yesterday were PR magic.

Man do I LOVE Jalen Hurts, he always is good for a couple nice one liners.

When asked about the joy of winning and balancing out "the standard" aka passing game being down

"Depends on the person and their definition of joy" aka - he loves winning more than anything.

My favorite one though, going 3rd person:

"Its gonna look how Jalen Hurts want it to look, you know, but, he's going to win games"

AJ was all smiles talking to the press.

Maybe BG DID know what he was doing after all, I think we work our internal giant.

My recollection to that was in the days leading up to the game, there was potentially going to be snow at game time. It ended up not happening but I think the agita it caused probably convinced them to not roll the dice again.

Landon Dickerson also set the record straight with Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown, and the offense:

“We’re on the same page. I don’t know what y’all like to construe up and write, but we’re all on the same page here.

"I know being Plain Jane doesn’t really sell stories."
The fire is lit man. At the beginning of the week I was thinking "ooo tight game" but now that we see most likely no Pickens, it seems the team is pissed off and focused right now. I'm leaning more to this game potentially being a blowout with what I saw from the entire team yesterday, I watched as many live interactions as I could and they are in lock step.

I was calling for a blowout even before this. This is going to be a statement game from the O.

Right. The question ESP asked him was, “what offensively can improve?” He’s not gonna say the run game, lol.

Jeff Stoutland was featured in NFL Films which aired last night. I hope this guy makes the HOF.

You gotta figure when it’s all said and done he will have coached at least 2 HOF offensive lineman (Lane + Kelce) and if he sticks around 5-8 more years, if Mailata continues the path he is on, Landon as well + potentially the NFL rushing record. Lotta bullet points for the argument to be cemented. The story of Mailata alone is stuff of legend.

The Pittsburgh Steelers last win against the Philadelphia Eagles on the road was on October 24, 1965.

And the Eagles have never beaten Russell Wilson. He's 5-0 against us. So, one of those streaks will end on Sunday.
This will be wild.

Hurts gets first win in Cincinnati, first win in Baltimore, first win against Wilson and if we win out the Eagles as an organization all-time will be above .500.

There’s no way you can listen to the clip (don’t read it) and come to that conclusion or you’re exactly the guy Dickerson is talking about.

Are we the only fan base who deal with these soap opera dramas and keeps falling for them? Lol

I listened to the clip, AJB is a seasoned veteran who has dealt with the media for years. He said what he said, because he was taking shot a Hurts but left it vague enough so that he could do what he did a couple days later and walk it back. The only thing he didn't count on was BG saying what he said, which was to validate the position that AJB was taking a shot at Hurts and their relationship was changed. This required the Eagles leadership to step in. So everything said after what BG said on Monday was just polished by the PR team. It was actually brilliant by BG, because he didn't let AJ get away with the comment without forcing him to have to deal with his frustrations face-to-face.

But, now here we are with the stepford fans trying to gaslight people, even though they know, who/what AJ was talking about when he said "passing." Unless you really think, we're supposed to believe that he meant the OL needs to block better or the WRs need to get open more or the coaches need to call better plays. If you do, I got some great oceanfront property to sell you in Kansas. LOL!

The best part about it all is Jalen is a sociopath. He actually was smiling a lot at that presser, so I think we really are about to see some fireworks come Sunday man one way or another.

AJ can take subtle shots or direct shots and Jalen is still going to look like the mIchael myers mask and have zero emotion. He's just a different dude its really funny how nothing really seems to rattle him ever.
