2024 Philadelphia Eagles - Step inside and discuss Dana Bible vs. Mike Groh as worst former Offensive Coordinator. (4 Viewers)

Go get Myles Garrett. Give up whatever you need to get him. Just get him.

Of course, cost matters at -some- point. But it does feel like they're in that rare window for a Super Bowl that you never know how long the window stays open.
Exactly. ‘22 felt like we missed our shot. This team can win one. Make it happen.

Playing devils advocate here, but isn't it better to continue to draft well (looks like they hit on Mitchell and DeJean) and replace those higher priced guys to keep your window open longer?

Sure if we're going to find the next Miles Garrett in the draft. Odds of that happening?

Do we need the next Miles Garrett? How about just the next Brandon Graham.

Well the next BG will take 6 years to become a starting caliber player and then a pro bowler. Id prefer something more immediate.

You're probably one of those guys who complained they didn't draft Earl Thomas. Sometimes, it's better to develop a player that will be here long-term than the instant gratification.

Rewatching the game. Mehki Becton just played BY FAR the best game of his career. He held up very well in pass pro, and was mauling guys in the run game, several pancakes and guys being pushed 7-8 yards off the line. He was the best player on the field yesterday. The 1st time he's ever looked like a#11 pick.

Eagles OL coaching is elite, and Becton probably always should have been a G. Maybe he'll be another Leonard Davis, a former high pick, who bombed as a T for Arizona but was a monster at G for Dallas.

Score another one for Howie Roseman.

Generally yes, but hitting on two young studs in the first round of the draft is not usually doable. Garret would make this already impressive defense lights out

or crosby. i would be down to give up a 1. easily

Gonna take two of those 1s.
Crosby is worth it.
Yeah even 2 first round picks almost seems cheap for a 27 year old of his caliber, however, he’d most likely want another deal and that could get really tricky
He’s still young. I’d trust Howie to get done a deal for a guy that would be a perennial all pro at that position for the next five years

I agree and he’d make a huge impact and I think fans would love him.

Getting Crosby would drastically change the entire defense. Suddenly you go from a mediocre Dline with a stud in Carter who gets doubled every play, Jordan Davis run stuffer, ok DEs with Huff, Sweat and Smith to a deadly Dline. Crosby drawing doubles on his side frees up Carter and gives Smith, Sweat, Huff free reign to go nuts on the backside. On top of it, Crosby will be your guy for 5 years minimum.

That to me is worth 2 1's

AJ Brown is supposedly day-to-day with a knee contusion (whew!)

With the TNF short week vs WSH coming up, it’s possible they sit him against DAL.

With the advent of facing Cooper rush and a less-than-100%-CD I feel like we may actually win in Dallas for the first time in what feels like a decade. Think sitting AJ probably makes sense.

I'd much rather have Garrett than Crosby. He's a better player, and only 1.5 years older.
That 1.5 years is pretty significant and I don’t know if I’d say “much” better either. Theyre close to one another IMO
I think Garrett is the best defensive player in the NFL. Crosby is excellent, but its like the difference between an A+ and a B+ to me. I think if Garrett were on almost any other franchise, we'd be talking about him as a 1st ballot HOFer.

I think trading for Myles Garrett in 2024, would be like trading for Michael Strahan in 2000.

Precisely. Two first rounders are well worth it. Just get it done.

Hoping we start to see something more from Gainwell or Shipley soon so they can start to take some of the load off Barkley. Saquon is on pace for 376 touches, which would be the most in his career. He previously had 352 in both 2018 and 2022.

Or, since he's essentially on a 2-year deal, maybe they just want to maximize his production during these 2 years in his prime and then move on.

i thought he hurt himself on that crazy backwards hurdle. i agree its time to start lessening his reps a bit

Would like to see what Shipley has. I like Gainwell more then most, quality backup, decent at everything but not very dynamic.

Agree
Gainwell is not good. If hes starting we have no chance of a decent rushing day. Shipley has flashed more in half a year than gainwell his whole career

The first game against Green Bay they used Shipley in some packages and they looked great. His run that got called back was nice too.

I'm a Gainwell hater, so anything that takes touches away from him...I'm game.

Pheagle Homies
What are you hearing about A.J. for Sunday?
Full go?
No limits?
"Play" not pitch count?

Full go imo but they have a much more important game against Washington four days later. If they get up early I could see a lot of rotating Saquon, Gainwell and even Shipley and letting AJ and Davonte rest.

I find myself more than a little anxious about this game. There are plenty of legitimate reasons that indicate the Eagles should thoroughly stomp the Cowboys later today. Sure, okay, I really hope that happens. I just do not think it will.

I do think the Eagles will win today. It'll be more difficult than it needs to be though, for various reasons. Mostly self-inflicted reasons. This game will not be pretty.

Honestly, I'm not feeling that. This Dallas team can't run the ball or stop the run. They will lose by a minimum of 2 scores today, probably 3.

I would lose my mind if we got either guy.

Maxx in particular would be an immediate fan favorite.
Im honestly glad we didn’t get Garrett. Just a poor teammate and he was tone deaf on the Watson injury. Yeah fans shouldn’t boo or cheer an injury but at the same time you are talking about a guy with almost 32 investigations on inappropriate sexual contact. Myles then goes out of his way to call him a good person. Myles got absolutely wrecked by local media and some nationally for being so tone deaf. There’s defending a teammate then defending a sexual predator. That’s not the type of character Lurie and Howie would want on this team

You can do both. Crosby is a great move for this offseason not in in season for this team. I’m still not sold on them. Cincy D is terrible & overall are such a Jykle/hyde team, the Giants are embarrassingly bad and We should’ve beat Jax by 3 TDs honestly. It’s nice they are beating teams they should but I feel they’ll make the playoffs and not make much noise.

They got some deadweight they need to get off the books though.

Sweat is only signed through this year he’s an fa after the year

He kind of did but wasn’t bad. But yeah we’re asking for Barkley to get hurt at this point. Cam Akers at the deadline or Khalil Herbert either wouldn’t have been a bad idea

Jalen Hurts was pressured on 13-of-21 first-half dropbacks (62%), the highest pressure rate he has faced in a half in his career (min. 5 dropbacks).

He completed 5-of-6 passes for 101 yards and a touchdown to go with 5 sacks and a fumble on those plays.

Overall a pretty strong performance. Went for the deep ball more then I'd like, causing a couple sacks, but fantastic defensive effort. Hurts overall played well despite a couple of turnovers. The pick wasn't egregious, probably shouldn't have thrown it but it was was a fantastic play by the defender.

Team is better then we've been giving them credit for

The defense has been suffocating teams the past 4/5 weeks. I can't believe it. Granted, its against not the greatest QBs, but in years past, we'd let guys like Mac Jones torch us for 300+ yards. Not anymore.

Onto the Commanders!
