2024 Philadelphia Eagles - TE Albert Okwuegbunam traded for roster space. (21 Viewers)

Currently watching Shane Haff and Johnny Page breakdown the All-22 from the game. Man, the Defense looks bad!

Not excusing Slay dissing CJGJ on Micah’s podcast, but he was (is?) godawful. He needs made fun of.

The D was aggressive when they shouldn’t have been and conservative when they shoulda been aggressive. Fangio made some really, really bad calls, and the miscommunication was everywhere.

The only silver lining is that they reminded me that MIAs D got a lot better 2nd half of last season after an abysmal start. So, maybe there’s hope.

I gave Nick a pass last season 1 year removed from SB and losing all coordinators. Im now in the samp that Siriani needs to show up the rest of the season. While I believe Hurts is the problem, we aint getting rid of Hurts. No playoffs, no more Nick

And looking over some of the more advanced stats it appears as if Moore is running less motion and less snaps from under center than every before.

Nick still has a heavy say in this offense it seems.
I think it’s fair to guess that Jalen simply doesn’t like plays from under center and prefers shotgun. It’s not that crazy, he’s not a super tall guy, starting in shotgun gives him a better view of the defense.

Why they are not running motion more is a mystery.

I’d like to think that a 250 million dollar QB can learn or practice something like this to help his team and improve his game.

I’m really starting to split between how much is Sirianni and how much is Hurts.

well it keeps going the way its going and they are both gonna be gone
Isn’t hurts signed for another 4-5 yrs?

I got a feeling they are both more at fault then we really know, similar to Wentz/Pederson.

What leads me to believe this was Brian Johnson had a great report with the QBs at UF when there and elsewhere. Anthony Richardson had his best collegiate Career with him and so did Prescott. Hurts people talked up how he was close to BJ and if they were that close wouldn’t we be seeing more progress from hurts instead of regression? I don’t know how true this is but I’ve read a few times that Hurts doesn’t like or understand complex offenses. So for lack of better wording here the offense tends to get dumbed down for him. At the same time it’s Siri’s job to coach him out of bad habits etc. another thing I’ve noticed is with Hurts here, the team has never had a great back up? Is that by design or just what they felt available. I think Hurts could use a back up to create some friendly competition push him a bit more

The coach will go first I’m sure.
Always the coach then the QB unless something else happens

Yeah but there’s always gonna be that one desperate team who makes a dumb decision and trades well more then a guys worth just because.

Yeah but i dont think it matters much. I think for sure hes back next year but after that who knows

Well, it matters if at some point they want to move on from him (hypothetically) and no one wants to trade for him and it costs a ton against the cap to cut him. I have no idea how his contract reads
Going from memory, so don’t sue me if I’m off.

Year ……………Dead Cap
2025 $107 M
2026 $ 51 M
2027 $ 38 M

This doesn't make sense. Howie has always put a higher priority on backup QB then most. Pickett STARTED a decent number of games RECENTLY....you could argue he's terrible, but that's clearly more effort then many teams have put in. And remind me who was the backup last year...and where THAT player is now? Doing what?

My main redraft league had its draft tonight. Nobody cares about my fantasy team but that's not why I mentioned it. I figured you guys might be amused that a new member of our league this year is former Eagle Brandon Whiting, who played in the late Rhodes/early Reid era and was traded to SF in the TO deal. He works with a longtime member of our league, who recruited him.
He was my opponent this week and smoked me thanks to Chase and London.

So the Saints. Not that good.

Eagles better hope we get AJ and Devonta back or it's going to be an ugly stretch. If we don't beat Cleveland by 20 something is wrong.

Playing against Derek Carr in prime time that the chiefs coaching staff knows way too well was a recipe for disaster for the saints. The saints are an above average team. Playing at the super dome is an above average advantage.

The eagles can be the very best team or the very worst. They need to maintain improve their floor performances

Deshaun Watson is not only the worst QB in the NFL this season, he’s the worst in any of the last 5 seasons, through 5 weeks.

Among 32 qualifying quarterbacks, he is last in both EPA per pass play and success rate. If we zoom out to the past five seasons, there have been 153 quarterbacks with at least 100 dropbacks through the first five weeks. Among that sample, Watson’s 2024 season ranks last in both EPA per pass play and success rate.

If our D makes this guy look good, this team isn’t going anywhere this year.

It’s Philly you know we will make him look like Dan Mariano. What’s even worse is neither him or his back up should be in the nfl right now. Both should be rotting in jail cells. But that’s a discussion for another day in another thread

That’s my biggest fear for this team. The D seems so bad, it just strikes me as the most terrifyingly on-brand thing to let Watson look like an All Pro.

Please let the self-scouting have fixed some of the holes 🙏

Juju still got it. Not sure why we didn’t try and sign him 130 yds last nights. Better than any of the guys Howie and Nick wanted to throw out there now named AJ or Smitty.

What a dumpster fire the Jets

From Rachel Nichols

The #Jets are 2-3. Not 0-5. With a 40-year-old quarterback who had one of the most significant injuries in sports last year. Now we find out from @profootballtalk they made Saleh walk through the building in front of everyone with security escorting him? Maybe let the man leave with some dignity?

Just pointing out how much people tag this organization at least they don’t do this and org could be worse

Some chirping that if Eagles don’t get it done this week changes could be abrewing. Right now from media talk is if Sean McDermont gets fired that is the most intriguing job in the nfl Agebts of coaches are asking about. So if Eagles got rid of Nick they’d really need to work to bring their top guy in if he’s also in on the bills

Should beat the browns but i got a bad feelng about this game
Browns are the worst offense in the league and one of the worst teams in football. We're getting all of our offensive weapons back (first week since Brazil they're all available). If this is a close game game Nick will be right back on the hot seat. If they lose he'll be gone. Like no question in my mind. That being said, I'm thinking that they used the week effectively and will get back on track with a decisive win. Something like 35-17
