2024 Philadelphia Eagles - Week 1 will be "The Green Bowl" in São Paulo (3 Viewers)

Sirianni took the new coaches to Geno's the other night. In the photo Fangio, an authentic Philly guy, looks like he's there against his will :lmao:

This might seem strange, but I think the best steaks in Philly are at the Rocco's (attached to the Home Depots).
well it most certainly isn't Geno's.
Geno’s and Pat’s might be two of the worst cheesesteaks in the city.
I disagree a bit. For whatever reason at 2 AM after a long night of drinking those cheesesteaks would always hit the spot.
Yep did this a few times when my brother lived at passayunk. 15 min walk back to his place and crash there. When I go to the 2300 arena I always stop at Tony Lukes first

Yeah cheese and steak are just always good. Some better than others? Sure. But I'm eating it regardless lol
Never got the argument/debate over it honestly. My only issue is don’t order outside of tristate area unless you are at some out of state spot like the Eagles nest in ARZ or somewhere similar. I know there’s a place in Jacksonville the guy ships amaroso rolls down to his place to make them

Oh man, what’s y’all’s go to for best steak? Is Jim’s open again? That was our go to when in town but closed last time we tried.
Jim's was the best! I like Pat's over Geno's if I had to choose between those though.

Ya, ”worst cheese steak” sounds like an oxymoron.
Ya, there's a saying that they're like oral sex. When they're good, it's amazing. When they're bad, .... it's still pretty good.

fact. I've been all over the country and have found no more then 3 or 4 places that do anything that can remotely compare to the worst cheesteaks up there.

I've been interested in the post-Super Bowl dialogue around the OT coin toss decision. This article does a good job covering all the angles, but one point stood out as something that may apply to the Eagles:

Should Team 1 go for 2 after a touchdown on the first drive? "...Unless Team 1 is truly a dominant team from 2 yards out, it has to take going for 2 on the opening score off the table."

It made me wonder if the tush push puts the Eagles as one of the teams that might have done the analytics and would have chosen to go for 2 if they scored as the first possession team if this happened last year.

If the Bradberry flag doesn't get thrown and we somehow tied it up, in that particular game with the way the D was getting thrashed, I don't think Sirianni would have taken the risk after scoring an opening drive TD of failing to convert, only being up 6, and leaving the door open for KC to win with a TD an XP.

But, if those OT rules applied in the regular season, I could see them being aggressive and trying to go up 8 before giving the other team the ball.

It's crazy, and enjoyable, to see how much Jason Kelce has blown up on a national level. I mean every sports outlet is reporting if he is going to retire or not. I can't think of another OL who has held this kind of Q-rating. Maybe a DL, but still just crazy where he has come from a few years ago to now. I think what got him skyrocketing was the speech at the parade, but I know before that he was well liked here in Philly. I am guessing it is maybe the podcast?

Just has to be funny for other OL, especially centers, to see and wonder what the heck is going on like that

Offseason news is really scraping the bottom of the barrel when Schefter is reporting on rumors of an Eagles players sneaking around with a teammate's wife or girlfriend.
Also, if this turned out to be true, it's probably Fletcher Cox who did the stealing :lmao:
I mean I’ve had a ton of military friends etc and their marriages don’t last do to military spouse being away or continues moving. My GFs dad is an active navy guy and his wife and him broke up. Active military families need a strong frame of mind and support. No idea if the guy here recently left or not but no one should be surprised. The whole incident was hilarious from an outsider though. Didn’t the guy try to come to Cox’s house and he pulled a shotgun on him or something?

Like Scheftar says though people I think are just looking for reasons why they collapsed and looking for a story. Simple because a few things came out already on some guys.

I wish Adam would stick to being an "inside guy" with real knowledge instead of turning into a commentary guy.
Not much journalism anymore just clicks. The main guys just report stuff. You just got to sift through the bs and almost everyone has some sort of an agenda these days

Is the tush push really that strong of a play from 2 yards?

So Hurts can’t apparently handle the pressure? Can we draft a QB with thick enough skin to play here

According to sources: Jalen big contract-pulled in numerous directions on/off field put him under a lot of pressure he didn’t handle well ..Big Dom suspended-controls Sirianni emotions on sideline ,in his absence Nick gets in numerous arguments with players/coaches during games

Man, I go into black-out mode during the "silly season" between the Superb Owl and the Draft. Anything coming out of the media during this time is the schlockiest, click-baitiest excuse for "jernalism" you see all year. Guys like D. Gunn and Jeff McLane make their bones this time of year.

To be fair, he didn’t report anything. Some dbag on FS1 said he’s aware of something that happened with someone prominent that ripped the team apart but he wouldn’t say what, who, when, etc. That obviously led to a ton of random speculation, and Schefter was asked about it on 97.5. He basically said it was ********. That’s all.

I mean, he went from being a “maybe we’ll trade him” guy to the face of the franchise. That comes with a lot of additional responsibility and commitments that probably impinged on his off season prep. It’s not a great look but I can understand him getting pulled in too many directions. That’s got nothing to do with thick skin. I get the vibe that he’s mentally tough and not a prima donna like Wentz was.

The Sirriani needing a security guard to help him control his emotions thing is far more troubling than a young kid having trouble adjusting to being the face of a franchise in one of the toughest sports towns around. IMO

I would be asking if they could hire a coach with enough maturity that a mall cop isn't needed to hold his hand during games.

Can you explain what's funny about it, I'm missing the punchline.

Big Dom suspended-controls Sirianni emotions on sideline ,in his absence Nick gets in numerous arguments with players/coaches during games
Yet no one sees this or confirms who’s around the team lol.
Actually after thinking about this I think they mean Sirianni gets in to arguments with coaches and players from other teams, which we’ve seen before anyway.

At the end of the day it’s clicking season and when I normally check out

I find it interesting you want to replace the QB who is still young and growing/maturing, but are okay with a head coach who can't control himself.

I’d replace both at this point honestly only thing holding me back on deadset replacing Nick right now is he never really lost the team yet.

Gunn is pretty good at reporting stuff on the team. He’s pretty much a highly trusted source.
Yet nothing he said was information was it?

We’ve all see Hurts struggle and his opinion on that was it was he felt pressure cause of his deal. Riveting.

And raise your hand if you’ve seen Sirianni get into it with opposing players and coaches lol. And the ground breaking info there was that his head of security kept him out of that. Wow. Helluva job by a highly trusted reporter on that one lol

There’s a handful of reporters around the team and somehow they don’t report this but the guys with zero connection have all the sources. Strange isn’t it? These same guys don’t know our FA’s, firings, cuts or even who we’ll draft before it’s announced. Strange right? Lol

The Eagles have finalized their coaching staff. Here is the complete group:

Clint Hurtt, Senior Defensive Assistant/Defensive Line

Returning coaches with new titles

For those keeping score:

- There's a new coordinator on both sides of hte ball.
- There's a new coach at all three levels of the defense.
- There's one new position coach on offense (QB).

- There's a designated split between OLB and ILB coach.
- There's a DBs coach, with a CBs coach and safeties coach. No nickels coach like last year.

Fangio has a defensive passing game coordinator and a senior defensive assistant — both of whom have worked with him before.

He needs an emotional support bodyguard? Wow, they should just let Sirianni get one of those cute poodles on a leash to stand next to him.

Not too long ago it was endearing to most that Sean McVay had a "Get Back" guy. He was seen as "passionate" and other such sentiments. :ponder:

And no one cares enough to click or interact when it comes to that team. They know who butters their bread when it comes to the clicks. We’re just dumb enough to fall for it over and over and over. It’s literally why guys like Skip Bayless have a platform lol.

AJ Brown on WIP right now. Just called in to clear up things
The back peddling was pathetic. Outside of a couple hosts I have no clue how talk radio survives here
Jack Fritz is a joke. He stayed silent that whole impromptu interview except to ask about Kellen Moore and AJ basically said "He's good but we're not here for that so ask the real questions you want to know."

They’re all clowns I wouldn’t have wasted my breath. If the Eagles and WIP weren’t partnered to broadcast the games they’d drop them already like a bad habit. Absolute toxic culture on both stations, constant back stabbing and sounds like an immature college frat houses. It’s a bunch of wannabe journalists who couldn’t hack it in college. Honestly if I was one of these players agents I’d call in the station similar to what Casey close did for Hamels when he called out BS from Mike Missenelli. Mike acted like a scaled dog and sat there. When I asked someone in the media about it close said the last people in Philly to get an exclusive would be their sports radio stations because they are a bunch of scumbags

That interview was cringy, but a couple of things that came of it.

  1. AJ repeated the point that the players were to blame for the end of the season collapse, not the coaches.
  2. He made the point that his relationship with Jalen was not tarnished and that Jalen's demeanor was not an issue with the rest of the team.
  3. Most importantly, he said, more than once, that he is happy where he is and wants to be an Eagle. Took major exception to the notion that he wants out.

He didn't have to do it but I'm kinda glad he did
