2025 College Football Thread: “Lane won’t do the same thing he’s done for 18 years to us!” LSU says to itself (21 Viewers)

Utah fraud, getting embarrassed by a pathetic Kansas team. Exactly why SEC deserves a bunch of teams in the playoffs. Big 12, acc suck.

Utah won by 10 on the road. This is a ridiculous take. Texas Tech, Utah and BYU do not suck. None of them lost to 3-loss Texas.
Utah hasn't beaten anyone and BYU has only beaten Utah. Neither played anyone good out of conference.

ACC 2-0 vs the SEC today? Thought the ACC sucked?
They were 0fer against the SEC yesterday. Seems like a weird position to take
4-5 on the season with FSU vs Florida still to go
To be clear, I don't think the ACC "sucks"
I do lol. Actually I think they are loaded with teams ranked about 20-35 and Miami is somewhere around 10-15. But they have no great teams.

They are 10-2 today. What more do you want them to do?

Beat someone good? BYU might be top 8 or might be about #20. Utah might be top 10 or might be about #25. We don't really know because neither has beaten anyone except 7 win Big 12 teams. Miami, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Texas, Oklahoma and Alabama all have better wins.

Aren't we a little old to realize life isn't fair?
Texas Tech and BYU will likely make the playoffs. Utah likely will not.

Bama lost to Florida State. Texas lost to Florida. Miami lost to SMU. Let's not forget the bad bad losses in all this.

So you're saying Texas should have scheduled UTEP instead of Ohio State so they could be 10-2 and then they would be ranked higher? I thought this playoff stuff was supposed to end the "better record is the better team" nonsense and encourage those non-conference games?

Are you sure BYU is likely to make the playoffs?

ACC Champ
G5
Texas Tech
Ohio State, Indiana, and Oregon
Georgia, Ole Miss, and A&M feel like locks.

Alabama likely a lock if they beat Auburn and same for Oklahoma if they beat LSU today. That leaves one spot for ND, Miami, BYU, Texas and Vanderbilt (if they beat Tennessee).

No. No great teams, but what we're seeing is how a conference builds. It would be a different story of the "blue bloods" were pulling their weight

And the committee better take an official stance on out of conference games and value them more or we are going to get 3 crap games then conference games.

I don't know what Texas should have done instead of Ohio State and I don't care. They are a 3 loss team and one of those losses was to crappy Florida. Don't lose to Florida.

Yes, I think one loss BYU is likely in.

I'm not here to argue about Texas. Looking a win-loss records is dumb IMO. Texas has some great wins, scheduled the best team you can out of conference, and played a tough conference schedule. Check out A&M's resume for comparison. 7 SEC wins in the bottom 8 teams and did not beat a single top 8 SEC team but are hanging their hat on a ND win. I would select Texas over Texas A&M with their resumes every single time.

With BYU who is out to put them in? Oklahoma or Alabama has to lose or they have to jump one of those teams or Notre Dame without Miami or Texas jumping them.

LSU is about to do everyone a favor and knock OU out. I’m not even sure OU should be in with a close win. The offense is very bad.

I think if BYU beats Texas Tech both teams are in. If BYU gets soundly beat again, then keep them out.

I don't think a 3 loss team belongs at all. I fully understand not all conferences are equal. I don't know how to fix that. But I don’t think Texas belongs in the conversation for playoff teams.

These announcers are tough to listen to. I can normally ignore them. But these guys are special dumb.

"The pocket just collapsed preventing him from being able to step up in the pocket" as we watch the replay real time with NO ONE in the frame other than the QB stepping up and just making a crappy throw.

If they win, sure but I think Tech smokes them and they should be left out.

I agree 3 loss teams don’t belong unless that 3rd loss is in a championship game. If Bama wins tonight and loses to UGA I think they should be in.
