Honestly, it doesn't matter who the QB is, if the OC is awful. Zero faith right now of Getsy righting this ship. The one and only chance AP has is to do the unthinkable and fire Getsy tomorrow. It would be a hail mary that would very likely flop in its own right, but there is zero hope otherwise. Kermie Mahomes would flop right now with this OL and running game.

Can't absolve the players totally, but this was just a miserable failure of coaching.
The first two weeks the defense mixed things up with some nice blitz packages. It seemed like they thought they could just come out today and stay in a base, vanilla D and the Panthers just would not be able to do anything.
The best two players on offense are Adams and Bowers and the O line has been very poor at run blocking all year. The plan was still to just come out and try to pound the ball on first and second down. The Panthers have been bad against the run so far this year, but how about playing to your strength?
This felt like - we're better than them and should be able to win by just showing up and running safe, bland schemes. Even not playing Max early on first and second downs. Felt like - we shouldn't really need him to win this game.

It would be fascinating if they canned getsy and just dealt with it. One way or another. It was an OBVIOUS mistake when they hired him. And here we are.

I have 2 managers at work that need to be shown the door, but that would mean that the GM made a mistake. It would also mean more work for him in replacing them. So we just soldier on with 2 huge cold sores and pretend everything’s ok.

Kind of hard to be a dominant defense when the Dline is your strength and one starter is out for the season, two others (the stars you mentioned) are battling injuries and a key reserve is doing the same. Add in a starting LB out and a key reserve DB out.... looking at the injury report before the game, I knew our defense would struggle.

They're not because Pierce is basically Mike Singletary during his stint with the 49ers. He doesn't understand QB's. He needs a host of vet assistants around him like a Jimmy Raye in a league that has evolved past them. I see the Raiders maybe only winning two games at best before their bye week. If they post a donut hole in wins before the bye week, what should they do? Have Mark Davis still decide who the players want as a head coach in a lost season?

Should have paid elumenour. And it would have been nice to go after free agents like Atlanta did. Might not pay off for them. But they gave it a shot.

While being a franchise that has only five double digit win season in the past 30 years. There is no such thing as a "Raider Mystique" anymore. It's been two generations since they won the Super Bowl. But come on, they have again only five double digit win seasons since dial up internet.

Would Raider fans chose to shed the old Raider mystique and brand for a new brand and team identity if they promised to be a new, refreshing franchise to the 4 decades of futility of the three prior decades of "Raider Yore" from 1960 to 1990? Just what is success to a Raider fan? The Raiders have only five season in the black in the past 30 seasons. This is a failed franchise. I honestly couldn’t agree more about the Raiders mystique crap. “Commitment to Excellence”?!?! No one sohuld say that phrase ever again in until the raiders actually prove they can be excellent again. Haven’t been excellent in decades so that motto is a waste of breathe. Makes my eyes roll. Effin win consistently, and start with a commitment to above average before you dare say excellent.

But I’m stuck as a raiders fan. I don’t buy tickets or any merchandise at all but childhood first loves are hard to get over. I’m stuck but would love to get out. It ain’t in the cards for me but I made sure my 2 sons weren’t forced into Raider Fandom. Why would I wish that on anyone?

We’re aware. No need to rub it in. So many terrible decisions over the last 20+ years. I get way more upset when my fantasy team loses than when the raiders lose. I go to a game here and there. Refuse to buy merch. But it’s my team.

I was thinking the same thing last night after seeing the final score. The Raiders have been one of the worst teams in the league for the last 20 years but seem to get a pass because of their greatness in the 70s and the few great Gannon years. In the last 20 years, the Raiders were never even close to making it to the SB. Heck, most years they weren’t even close to being a winning team.

No. The loss to the Panthers was as predictable as the sun rising. Pretty sure I called it almost immediately after they beat the Ravens, although, I felt bullied enough (DON'T DOUBT MY TRUTH!!! (please recognize that as a joke) to waffle a few days later and suggest the new coaching staff might create a different outcome. Nope, I was right.

Now they got that terrible , and entirely obvious, loss out of their system, this one is a toss up.

My guess is they win, because they couldn't possibly do me a solid and suck enough for an entire season to give them a shot at a franchise QB.
