2025 Las Vegas Raiders thread - ☠ Yep, it was all on the ST coach, now we're on the path to greatness. ☠ (77 Viewers)

Wowzers on JPJ. We're done, son. Playoffs? Playoffs? I just hope we can win a game!... Actually, I don't. JPJ missing will help that for sure, but God save Jeanty from the abuse that's coming.

So... Who is the next young bust of a QB for us to select come draft time?
Of the top prospects, probably Mendoza. I like him because he has 30 college starts, very accurate, mobile and he's a big dude 6'5", 225lbs.

Of the ones that could bee had a little later I like Mateer at Oklahoma. 32 starts, 6'1", 224 lbs and he can run. I wish he was more accurate but, he isn't terrible.

I think the Raiders could ruin both of their prospects by week 6, 2026.

Cold truth right here. Lots of work to do.
It is true but, the plan the Bears followed this offseason looks like a good template to follow.

They brought in three quality starters on their interior offensive line and it's had a very big impact. Caleb is playing a lot better than he will ever get credit for & Swift is having a strong season too.

I hope they attack the OL in free agency and get to #1 and grab Mendoza. His mobility will be a valuable asset but, maybe less so if they shore up the OL.

They shouldn't make any move that does not improve the OL and/or get them a better chance at the #1 QB.

They have to make a push on making tyler linderbaum the highest paid center. Just like Hudson back in 15 or 16. There are some decent FA guards availble too. There is depth at RT in the draft, they could get a decent prospect in the 2nd round. Then we'd have Miller, JPJ, Linderbaum, FA Guard, Rookie RT or Glaze. Maybe Glaze can move to Guard and do better if he's not one the edge, like Gallery. And of course a new O line coach.

10000% agree on rookie QB and OL investment all day and all night.

This D is good enough to win games.
I don't care if it's the Bengals defense, there's no moving forward without fixing the quarterback position and that necessitates fixing the offensive line too.
We’ve both been singing the same song for 2+ years…draft a rookie QB. At all costs we need to find our young franchise QB. And of course, make sure the OL isn’t a turnstile.

Seems these concepts are too advanced for the Raiders.

I can’t help but roll my eyes at these posts. Look for another vet retread to be signed, such as Murray. Davis doesn’t have patience to build a young coaching staff or develop QBs. LV has been a bottom feeder for over 20 years for a reason.

Please don’t bring truth, facts or recent history into this argument.

So we forgo a 5th round pick for Elandon Roberts. That's what our FO decided was a good idea. We had Germaine Pratt who was sucking just fine, but cut him and are now playing Roberts at the expense of getting that 5th rounder. Upgrading from the 53rd graded LB to the 48th, YAY.

now playing Roberts at the expense of getting that 5th rounder

Can you expound on this?
He's part of the comp pick formula. If he plays fewer than 25% of the snaps he doesn't cancel anything out. But because we cut Pratt (who wasn't part of the formula) and are playing Roberts so much, he's at 57% snap count so will almost certainly cancel out the 5th rounder we get from losing Spillane. He was at like 15% before we released Pratt.

The worst part is his contract is only a 7th round value, but since we don't have a 7th round comp pick it cancel out the next lowest - which is a 5th. We should just have kept Spillane if we weren't gonna net a pick out of it.
