2025 Miami Dolphins - 5-7, making a Playoff run :) (9 Viewers)

So the Phins are winning out and going 10-7, is that what we all see now?

You forgot that they will end up as the 8 seed in the AFC just missing the playoffs in that scenario...
I saw where it's like only 40% chance at 10-7, I remember when Flores missed the Playoffs at 10-7 but let's not talk about him

-It should be noted that Miami isn't very good at picking in the Draft, at least not the last couple decades with a few exceptions
So while on one hand I want the Phins to get a higher pick, on the other they typically whiff when they have to pick in the Top 5

-If Miami pushes off from Tua in the off season, Pre June/Post June, trade or release or whatever, it's gonna take the dead cap hits to an all time NFL record
You've already sunk the money into Tua, and unless Miami has some direct line to hiring an actual head coach, let McDaniel stay as long as Tua is gonna be the starter
Miami needs an OL, the left side with Paul-Rookie LG-Brewer...that's fine but Tua has no blindside starters at RG or RT, both Daniels and Austin Jackson have started 1 game each...
I like to criticize Tua but I bet we'd be 5-5 vs 3-7 if we had any kind of production from the right side of that OL...and still Achane is finding chunk plays
It looked so good when Miami had an OL for part of a season or two

-What I would like to see is Miami continue to pour resources and picks into the OL/DL and also the Secondary is going to need some attention IMHO...
If we can find an impact skill player with one of the 3 third Rd picks, go for it. The other 4 Top 100 should be used to get better on both sides of the Line
If we would build the foundation and do it right, I think eventually we could find a QB the way Tampa found Baker and Indy found Daniel Jones

Good to see you Gator
Cheers!

I'm not sure I ever saw a team try and give a game away more and still win. It's almost like McDaniel was being the team player and trying to lose for the draft pick. How you don't kick the FG with a minute plus left with the other team out of time outs is beyond me. Instead you turn it over and they march down the field and have a FG to win it. Then in OT you decide to kick away only to have them throw an INT. Commanders just wanted that draft spot more.

This team is going to run off a couple wins the next few weeks over the Saints and Jets and likely beat the Bengals and end up with 7 wins and end up about 6 or 7 picks later then they should have.

Glass half full take is that at least this will be good tape for the new GM to evaluate the players on the roster with.

I posted this towards the end fo the game thread but it deals with Miami showing who the really are towards the end of the 1st Half, chance to blow the game wide open...

-What was going on after the big Rasul Douglas interception in the 1st Half?
Miami is up 13-0, time to hit the gas, they're already set up in Saints' territory after a big return by Douglas
Miami starts to just loligag around with 1 timeout left, they gain 9 yds w/Achane on 1st down and they burn their last timeout with about a minute left, WHY?!
2nd and 1 they run the ball and don't make it and the clock is RUNNING and then on 3rd down they manage a FD but all the time is gone and they settle for a FG

Should have been 24-0 at the Half but they settled for field goals and it left the door open and that's why things get tight in the 2nd Half, Miami was lucky to win this football game.

Remaining schedule and W/L projections...

@NYJ, I could argue the Jets are a better team right now than they were the last time these two teams met, Miami could be a 2 pt favorite which ain't saying much
@Pitt, Rodgers or no Rodgers, just hard to envision the Phins winning on the road in what will likely be cold weather, another reason to bet against them vs the Jets this week
Could Miami possibly be 7-7 after these 2 road games? How about 5-9?

CIN, the defense makes them very beatable even when Joe Burrow is clicking. Different team with JB at QB, CIN would likely be a 6-7 point favorite I would think
TB, even if Miami puts together a winning streak which they won't, no way they are beating the Bucs
Best Best case scenario is 8-8 some how after these next 4 games which would set them up for a showdown in New England
It's possible the Patriots could be resting a lot of their starters in Week 18 if they have the Division locked up and also home field which isn't far fetched with Denver being the only real threat at the moment. The Patriots back ups especially along the OL/DL, better than our starters, I wouldn't disagree with you.

Hard to see Miami making it to something like 9-8 when they have to go on the road 3 times into the Northeast where cold weather is going to play a big factor, they would need amazing run production like we rarely see from them. And again, the game vs the Saints felt more like a loss than a win, they don't have the momentum rolling as they take to the road.
