2025 NASCAR Thread - 24FORSURE is the fantasy leeg champ (2 Viewers)

At Richmond for the races this weekend. Caught the tail end of qualifying. Ryan Preece won the pole — wasn’t expecting that one.
RFK has three in the top 12 for Richmond.
I can’t figure them out as a team. Obviously no wins but flirting with two pointing into the playoffs. Brad’s put himself in position to win lately, also not entering pit road when it is closed.

No cheating needed from Austin Dillon this year.

Richmond was a fun time. Preferred it over the Charlotte Roval that did last year, as can see the action. Smaller size also made it easier to move around the fan zone outside. My son got autographs of Cole Custer, Ty Dillon, and Corey Heim, without any wristbands needed, and lines were pretty short.

Jordan said they’ve always been open to settlement, doing this for the good of the sport. Don’t care for him disparaging Joe Gibbs Racing. The whole thing gives me vibes of the PGA vs LIV golf when that thing launched.

Tldr version?
Jordan, Hamlin, Front Row: NASCAR we want more money
NASCAR: No
Jordan, Hamlin, Front Row: Let us race the cars outside Cup to make more money
NASCAR: Also, no. Tracks, you can’t have Next Gen race at your course outside of Cup
Jordan, Hamlin, Front Row: You are a monopoly
NASCAR: Also no

Chastain and Hocevar battling for p7 with Hamlin behind them makes me laugh. How’s Hamlin going to approach it? And broadcast says Chastain two laps short on fuel

I'm following every race and Hamlin's podcast. I just don't care at all about our fantasy league. If there was more discussion of the races and strategy I'd partake too.

I think things get crowded in the fall. I’ve missed the past few races, and have forgotten to set fantasy lineup too. I have one kid, but apparently have two soccer games on Sunday to get him to. Plus, MLB playoffs and NFL in full swing, though I did not even get a chance to watch any NFL this past Sunday.

NASCAR announced they're increasing horsepower on short ovals and road courses next season from 670 to 750. Hopefully that'll improve the racing on short tracks which has been the biggest falloff with the current package.

Terrible end for Hendrick Motor, just said to my son I don’t think I want Hocevar pushing and then Byron goes for a spin.
Nobody has more of a reason to be frustrated than Willie B. these past 2 races.

Going to miss this last race of the round of 8 at Martinsville (traveling). A lot of chatter about keeping the Penske cars out of the final 4... could be interesting.

Can’t repeat last year’s Martinsville with Chevys intentionally not passing Willie B. I’ll have to look up the penalties for manufacturer collusion.

The four tire call would obviously look a lot better if Hamlin blew past everybody on the restart but at the time of the last pit stop, the 11 was only really racing two other cars, both of which had much older left side tires. Right sides seemed like the call with so few laps left to recover track position.

I hope this is the last we see of the winner take all finale. It's kind of ridiculous for a 36 race championship to come down to a single restart.

There is no perfect way, but the current format isn't it.

Almost felt bad for Hamlin yesterday. I think two tires was the call. Clean air and the best car should have won him the race.
Outcome would have been different had he been able to make the big move in turn one to pass several cars. It didn't work.

Congrats to John for winning the Leeg, it has been a forgone conclusion for at least 3 months. Crazy takes P2 and I take P3. First time I ran out of starts so no playoff 4 for me left and Crazy passes me by.

Don’t love the format but I did enjoy playing, little time investment but it does get me to read a few more articles pre and post race. So I’d rather do this than manage a fantasy baseball team.

I’m open to a different format next year. I was just setting something up for my son and myself before the season started on the NASCAR app, and thought may as well as offer something up for the FFA too. Thanks for those who played along, and congrats to 24ForSure.

It looks like Fantrax does Fantasy NASCAR and uses the tiers if folks wanted to do it again, but try something different. But some time to figure it out.
