The Athletic's Joseph Person reports Panthers owner David Tepper is "unhappy and embarrassed" by the team's performance under head coach Matt Rhule.
Rhule, who has lost 21 of his 31 games as Carolina's head coach, said this week that Tepper has “nothing but confidence about me and the future and moving forward." Often citing "the process," Rhule has preached patience with his underperforming Panthers, who have flailed wildly over the past year in search of a franchise quarterback. They inexplicably settled on Sam Darnold before the 2021 NFL Draft, only to see him flounder after a promising start to the season. Signing Darnold cost Joe Brady his job as the team's offensive coordinator. After Brady was fired in November, Rhule pledged to establish the run behind one of the NFL's worst offensive lines. Panthers players have reportedly grown deeply skeptical of Rhule's "process," criticizing his micromanaging approach to coaching. “The proof’s in the pudding,” said one veteran personnel official. “The product on the field is bad.” An agent who represents several Carolina players told The Athletic there are Panthers players from Baylor and Temple -- Rhule's former college teams -- who wouldn't make an NFL roster anywhere else. Expect 2022 to be Rhule's final year as Carolina's head coach barring a miraculous turnaround.

The laughing emoji would've been great for this. He's an embarrassment to his local home town here. He has family here who don't even want to associate with him anymore in the PHilly area. One person said they weren't surprised as it seems NE brainwashes their guys into a cult and when they go out to other jobs a lot don't get out of that (Vrabel is exempt from this). Joe Judge needs to be fired after the disrespect he just showed Ron Rivera. He's respected through the league and one of the few coaches when under Andy Reid's staff here was loved day 1 till the end of his own tenure here. Joe Judge I'd be surprised if he could get a coaching job in a pop Warner league in the tri state area when all this is done.
Judge needs to be gone. An absolute travesty if he’s retainer. Fangio has run its course. Zimmer has definitely run its course. Jags better not hire Bevell lol. Nagy is gone. Rhule needs to go too.
other dark horse firings are Rivera, culley, stefanski (doubtful), Flores (kinda doubtful)

Broncos fired OC Pat Shurmur.
The Broncos are overhauling their staff, moving on from head coach Vic Fangio as well as Shurmur. Denver added Shurmur to the mix ahead of the 2020 season, hoping he could find a way to make Drew Lock work. As expected, he couldn't and the Broncos became the next team to attempt to make Teddy Bridgewater a thing this year. Shurmur couldn't coax more than replacement-level numbers out of Bridgewater despite having a solid cast of weapons for him to work with. Shurmur has over a decade of experience as a head coach and an offensive coordinator under his belt. He won't have any problems landing a job as a position coach once the hiring cycle begins.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Vikings coach Mike Zimmer could be fired at the end of the season.
Rapoport isn't dropping any bombshells here as anyone with a passing interest in football knows Zimmer is treading on thin ice. He has failed to make the playoffs in five of his eight seasons as the team's head coach and will do so again this year. The Vikings have had Kirk Cousins for four years and have topped eight wins just once. Their current setup appears to have reached its ceiling, possibly forcing a coaching change from management. If this is the end of the road for Zimmer, he will go down as having the third-most wins for a Minnesota coach in the franchise's history.

Bears fired Matt Nagy this morning, per source.
Won 8 of last 9.Dolphins fired Flores, also per Schefter. I didn’t really follow them closely, and I know the schedule was weak, but they seemed to finish fairly strong.

Dolphins’ GM Chris Grier is safe, per sources. But Dolphins are moving on from HC Brian Flores.

Former Dolphins’ HC Brian Flores now is expected to be a prime candidate to get head coaching consideration elsewhere during this next hiring cycle, per sources.

While I realize many are assuming Flores’ departure is tied to Harbaugh’s potential availability, I can assure you that is not the case. The Dolphins are not targeting Jim Harbaugh, per sources. The decision to fire Flores is entirely independent.
NFL insider Josina Anderson reports Giants general manager Dave Gettleman is retiring.
It's the ultimate "you can't fire me, I quit" situation for Gettleman after a horrendous four-year run as the team's general manager. Gettleman went all in on Daniel Jones in the 2019 NFL Draft, ensuring that his fortunes would rise or fall along with Jones'. The Giants under Gettleman and head coach Joe Judge have become the most embarrassing franchise in professional sports, alienating fans with an unwatchable on-field product. Gettleman, gleefully mocking analytics advocates during press conferences, drafted a running back (Saquon Barkley) with the second overall pick in the 2018 draft instead of Josh Allen or a host of defensive players who are now among the league's best. pushed to sign Kenny Golladay last offseason only to see the once-explosive wideout fail to score a single touchdown on a meager 37 receptions this year. The Mara family will try to restore at least some respectability with the team's next general manager, who certainly should not come from inside the moribund franchise.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports Giants ownership had yet to meet with coach Joe Judge as of noon ET on Monday.
If the Giants were waiting for Judge to fire himself, that hasn't happened yet. If they are waiting to figure out how to announce they are keeping him ... it would set off a firestorm amongst the Giants faithful. Josina Anderson reports they are doing just that. Anderson also reports GM Dave Gettleman is informing "some in the building" he's retiring. Perhaps ownership will wait to hire Gettleman's replacement before deciding Judge's fate. Judge is reportedly meeting with the team at noon, speaking with "an eye to the future." Mercy. These situations have a way of evolving rapidly and chaotically, but Judge has already cleared a few hurdles (waking up with his job on Monday) we were not expecting.

John Holt@JohnHoltNewsBroncos fired OC Pat Shurmur.
So to sum up, here are the current openings:
Vegas
Jacksonville
Denver
Minnesota
Chicago
Miami
How would you rank these in terms of desirable jobs?
Interesting that they are also sorted very geographically as wellthis is what I would think off the top of my head
1) Best talent bases and could be playoff teams right away with the right coaching and a few tweaks.
Denver
Vegas
2) Average talent bases at best, but pretty clean cap and owners that aren't too meddlesome
Minnesota
Chicago
3) Some intriguing parts but horrible owners and bad culture overall
Miami
Jacksonville
The Athletic's Jeff Howe reports the Texans may not finalize their decision to keep coach David Culley until the end of the week.
Ongoing decisions following Black Monday are usually a sign that the coach's fate has already been determined. Howe's sources also align with Jay Glazer's recent report that the Texans could be "one-and-done" with Culley. Having set the latter up to fail in year one of the organization's rebuild sans Deshaun Watson, it would be an embarrassment albeit par for the course if Houston forced Culley to fall on the sword for Jack Easterby and Nick Caserio. The duo's cronyism will inevitably lead to the Texans interviewing Patriots OC Josh McDaniels the moment New England's season comes to a close.

SNY's Ralph Vacchiano reports New York's decision to keep coach Joe Judge may not be decided until "next week, or even later."
As it stands, co-owners John Mara and Steve Tisch are "intent on getting input" on Judge from whoever they hire as the new general manager. And since the Giants are such a backward organization, the new GM will reportedly have to "convince" Mara and Tisch he has a better option and plan if he does not want Judge to remain the coach. With an embarrassing 10-23 record through two years at the helm, it would be an egregious decision (though not a surprising one given Mara's history) if the organization decides to keep Judge around for any longer.

NBC Sports Edge:And there goes the Judge
Giants fired Joe Judge.
Chalk up another loss for Bill Belichick's coaching tree. Responsible for New York's fourth and fifth consecutive losing seasons over the last two years, Judge's tenure comes to a comical end with an embarrassing 10-23 record and far more bark than bite including zero 30-point games, 16 contests in which the Giants failed to reach 300 yards of total offense, and a Week 18 3rd-and-9 white flag with a quarterback sneak from the team's own five-yard line. It's truly up in the air whether Judge will land anywhere in the NFL since he was severely outclassed in every aspect of game planning and in-game coaching weekly. The Giants will thus overhaul its general manager, head coach, and perhaps quarterback positions ahead of the 2022 season.

Texans fired head coach David Culley.
The league's most dysfunctional organization — by a long shot — needed four days to decide if it wanted to make 66-year-old Culley one-and-done in Houston. Culley's hiring was widely first guessed due to his age and having never been an NFL coordinator, but he wildly overachieved his nonexistent expectations to put a competitive team on the field more weeks than not. Although frightfully conservative, the Texans were well organized and motivated. Now they will head back to a coaching market where GM/ex-Patriot Nick Caserio will undoubtedly be gunning for one of his former co-workers. The Josh McDaniel rumors will be running rampant the next 48 hours. Although he is closer to retirement than a long stint on someone else's sideline, Culley will generate interest as an assistant head coach. The Texans are a laughingstock.
