2025 Team Defense & Defense by Committee Thread (7 Viewers)

the up-n-coming Colts defense takes on the Gordon-less Chargers , indy playing with a chip on their shoulder in the 'you're gonna suck without Luck' era. Colts could be playing inspired football this weekend with people telling them that they've gone from a potential 12-4 team to an 8-8 team..they might come out hot as hell both offensively and defensively

Jets' defense vs a suspect Bills offense with J. Allen

Vikings will crush Atl

Seahawks

Lions

Eagles will stifle the hapless Redskins

I just want to have someone talk some sense into me lol.

Am I crazy to question CHICAGO D tonight @ home against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers and look to bench them in favor of a waiver wire pick up in CLEVELAND or NYJ? Short bench of 4 means dropping a potential bye week / flex / starter. That alone should deter me.

Da Bears

Edit: Add DALLAS as a waiver wire pick up D

Don't Bench the BEARS

Opposing defenses scored the 13th most fantasy points against the Packers last year despite Rodgers only throwing deux interceptions.  And they are instituting a new offensive system.  I currently have my Bears d benched in a couple of leagues but I'm starting to second guess myself.

I just dont understand why you would draft the Bears as the top defense and then bench them in Soldier Field vs a decent but unspectacular offense.

The 10th or 11th round is backup territory.  I drafted handcuff running backs before the Bear d without any intention of starting them week 1.

Hey, huge Bears fan here and I took them first. The Philly match up against Washington was just too good to pass up. I'm sure I'll start the Bears in 90% of my games.

Going to drop Dallas for Denver, despite the first 3 weeks for the Cowboys. With the AB mess, an already good 1st week match up turns juicy, and Denver might just become a sack machine with Fangio.

Running LAC vs IND this week.  Have to think it will take Indy a couple of weeks to get used to Jacoby under center again in that offense.

The Chargers are a good defense and Jacoby Brissett is obviously no Andrew Luck, but he has had pretty much the entire month of August taking starting reps with the first team offense. The following was tweeted around August 26:

Charlie Clifford @cliffWISH8

“In a strange way, since Andrew didn’t take any reps at training camp, I asked how many reps Jacoby has taken.  It’s over 1,200 reps with the first team offense. That is a season’s worth of reps... I can feel connections developing with T.Y. - Ebron & Funchess.” - Reich @WISH_TV

I think that's what I am leaning towards, as other options like SEA aren't available.

I have the Pats but this does not seem like the week to start them, and Jets D is underrated.
so is anyone looking to start Bills defense this week? they were like #1 in pass defense last year, and only got better this year with drafting  Oliver. everywhere i look people are saying Jetd are the best streamer but i think Bills are over them

Bills were not available for me otherwise I definitely would have considered them. This week, I think they are as good as an option as the Jets, I just think the Jets are going to win this game -- slightly more points/yards make them the slightly better option this week IMHO.

Bills are one of the more underrated Ds and if they fall to the wire, would definitely consider them as a streaming option through this season.

Folks sticking with the Chargers?
I thought I could be a single Team DEF kinda guy, but playing matchups is too enticing.  Dropped LAC for NE based on their schedule right now.  Plus NE Def looked more than solid last night.

What in the wide wide world of sports happened to Cleveland D yesterday?
They got dropped by me

Bottom line: Cleveland and the Jets are always going to be Cleveland and the Jets.

This team got hyped up all year and they end up getting crushed at home by a miserable offense in the Titans. Meanwhile, the Jets also have been hyped a lot in NY as up and coming and they lay an egg and blow the game vs the Bills also at home.

Pats put up some nice points based on only giving up 3 but only recorded 1 sack and 1 turnover. I know they have a dream schedule coming up but do I go after them or stick with the Seahawks?

I can put in a claim for the Texans this week.  But I have to drop the Chargers and might lose them for the year if I do.  Thoughts on that? Are Chargers worth keeping as a "regular" unit?
