Now that we have 25% of the season played (although some players have missed games with byes) it is time to evaluate how players are performing and discuss what we should expect from them moving forward.

This is how players stack up using standard 1pt/10yards rush/rec 25/passing 6pt all TD:

QB total points then points/game

Tier 1 Must starts?

McNabb, Donovan PHI QB 82.30 27.4 (still plays tonight)

Carr, David HOU QB 77.40 19.4

Vick, Michael ATL QB 74.18 18.6

Manning, Eli NYG QB 71.72 23.9 (included because of bye and ppg)

Favre, Brett GBP QB 64.00 21.3 (still plays tonight)

Tier 2 has performed as Qb 1 level

Pennington, Chad NYJ QB 71.50 17.9

Bulger, Marc STL QB 70.56 17.7

Tier 3 possible Qb 1s that have had bad games.

Kitna, Jon DET QB 65.14 16.3

Brady, Tom NEP QB 64.74 16.2

Brees, Drew NOS QB 61.06 15.3

Hasselbeck, Matt SEA QB 60.56 15.1 (most of this came in one game Wk3)

Brunell, Mark WAS QB 60.20 15.1

Palmer, Carson CIN QB 59.28 14.8

Tier 4 Qb 2 only startable in a pinch or based on matchup in QBBC

McNair, Steve BAL QB 56.34 14.1

Smith, Alex SFO QB 54.64 13.7

Losman, J.P. BUF QB 53.98 13.5

Warner, Kurt ARI QB 52.74 10.7 (benched for Leinart)

Culpepper, Daunte MIA QB 51.16 12.8

Bledsoe, Drew DAL QB 48.78 16.4

Delhomme, Jake CAR QB 43.52 16.4 last 2 games with Smith

Johnson, Brad MIN QB 43.28 10.8

Rivers, Philip SDC QB 36.72 12.2

Huard, Damon KCC QB 35.44 11.8

Plummer, Jake DEN QB 26.58 8.9

Which Qbs do you see moving up or down? And which Qbs do you think will be able to maintain thier performance for the rest of the year?

I'm curious if Grossman can keep up the hot start. Will the weather play a big factor when the wind and cold come around? Or is Grossman just that good?

Also will Kitna move up when everyone has more time and experience in the Martz system?

Anyone wanna trade me Palmer for Charlie Frye?

This is what happens when you use 3-4 games worth of data to make assessments. By week 10, this list will be completely different

If you've got a decent QB1, buy Plummer low. Bet you you won't regret it later in the season

I wonder about this too. Grossman has been phenominal. Honestly I am not sure what to expect from him still. I am still a bit in shock about seeing the Bears as a great passing team.Kitna and the Lions in general seem to have clicked the past 2 weeks. Is this just because they have played against weaker defenses? Or is it because the players have finaly started to execute Martz's offense? It is probobly a bit of both. The next 2 games against the Vikings and then the Bills, who both have above average secondaries should give some answers. I don't think Kitna is a must start yet but looks like a decent matchup option.

Hehe no I don't think so. But it does beg the question of what we should expect from Palmer. He has had 2 pretty bad games.

That is the point of this thread. I am seeking feedback on which players people think can maintain thier performance and which ones will rise and fall. At the same time the quarter mark is an important time to ask these questions as well as reassess your preseason expectations.

I agree with this strategy. I don't think Plummer will perform this poorly for the rest of the season.

i'm high on kitna, detroit has no running game and martz loves to air it out. with the emergence of furrey as anotherr receiver, they could make things interesting

Good points. I'm going to keep Grossman in the lineup and hang on to Plummer for later in the season. Cover the cold-weather argument with the Snake getting out of his rut. What could go wrong

Unless someone wants to trade me for Palmer... :D
