3-0 Highest scoring team in my league. Just traded my top 3 starters (1 Viewer)

comfortably numb

Lot looking to make this AC worthy, just wondering if anyone has ever been off to a great start and traded away their top starters.

Did it work, or blow up in your face?

I made these trades yesterday.

12 team dynasty

standard scoring

PPR

I traded

Mcnabb

Parker, Willie

for

Culpepper

Portis

Delhomme was my backup, now I have him and Pepper.

My other RB's were KJones, Betts, Jones-Drew, Deuce, Barlow

I figured Mcnabb has been a STUD, but I could upgrade at RB, and I am comfy with Delhomme as my starter.

I didn't like FWP post season schedule, and decided I was gonna shop him.

TRADE #2

Wayne

for

Chester Taylor

This may end up killing me?

Not sure, I am a RB ho,

This would give me

Portis

Chester

KJ

Deuce

I did give up my best WR, who, should put up big numbers

My roster as of now

Delhomme, Pepper, Lossman

Portis, KJones, MBell, Jones-Drew, DD (IR)

Chester, Deuce, Barlow, Betts

Driver, Washington, N

Keyshawn, BMW

Williamson

Whitten, Daniels

Now, of course my WR's look amenic.

I will be trading some RB depth to upgrade at WR.

Has anyone ever unloaded while being the best team?

I like the moves except getting Culpepper who will be mostly worthless all season. You better hope Steve Smith stays healthy the rest of the year or you will suffer at QB every week

I just did something similar. I was without a solid TE.

I traded McNabb/F. Taylor and Chad Johnson

I got:

Grossman/Tiki/TJ Houshmandzada/ and Antonio Gates.

I think I did alright. I still have Vick. I love Tiki and I think TJ and CJ are a push.

I am comfortable with Delhomme (yes, assuming Smith stay healthy)Not so sure Pepper will be a DUD, I think he will be OK, not a STUD anymore, but I think that team will make good progress for the end of the year.

I'm 3-0 and this week I've dealt

CJ for Larry Fitzgerald

Gore, S-Jax and A.Bryant for S.Smith, Deuece, and Cadillac

I'm not sure what made me flip 4 out of my 7 starters, hopefully it works out or I'm going to look like and idiot

Like the 1st deal, I like the 3 starters on your 2nd deal so I am on the fence with that deal.I think Cassy's tough schedule and team situation may have him in store for a tough season.Deuce has good #'s considering Bush is eating away at the playing time.

I like both trades. You should be able to trade some of your RB depth for a good WR if you choose to. Getting Portis was huge. Delhomme should be solid for you all year. With Smith back, he's got 2 great options as Keyshawn will never see a double team.

i liked your team better before the deals.
I can understand that, but I am gearing for the playoffsI lost Parker and McnabbParker has A rough schedule for the playoffsI downgraded at QB, but Delhomme is a top scorer when Smith is in the lineup.Wayne was a tough loss, and may cost me in the end.I just like Chesters playoff schedule.I can try to send my RB depth for some WR help, or send Portis, or KJ for a STUD WR.

Genius complex?

If it works then its all good

If not, you might as well wear a clown costume or a dress to your draft next year

about Chester, i have a bad feeling M Moore is going to start eating away at his playing time. Not a ton, but enough to reduce Chester's numbers from what they have been. I have him in 2 leagues and have been shopping him for this reason. I could be wrong, but gut instinct tells me to back away...

That coupled with my lack of a STUD wr is what made me really leary about making that deal. With that said, I am working on an offer to get RMoss and Moore

I strongly disagree with this thinking.Chester is past his rough streach of games now. He won't need as many carries to be as productive against the weaker defenses he will now be facing. You will see this begin this week.MM is a handcuff not a threat.

Delhomme McNabb is a top scorer when Smith anyone is in the lineup.
fixed
Very True.I did downgrade at QB, but upgraded at RB.

Im not done dealing.

But before these deals, I just didn't think this team was capabale of winning my championship.

I think alot of people make the mistake of not looking at their post season matchups, simply because their team is doing well early.

Always room for improvement.

I just hope it works out well for me.

I am playing another 3-0 team this week, and would have had Parker on a BYE, and possibly starting Deuce or Williamson as my 4th WR.

This gives me a great chance to open up at 4-0 and pretty much solidify a playoff spot.

Have you wached any football games this year involving the players Donovan McNabb & Daunte Culpepper? If you had, you would not have made this trade.

Ouch.

My co-owner & I unloaded Culpepper this week and celebrated with a pitcher.

1. Delhomme is my starter, and a good one. Culpepper may only play week 9(or Lossman vs the Packers) for me, not to mention I think Pepper has a good chance to improve as the year goes on.2.Belive me, I am NOT taking ANYTHING away from Mcnabb, but... Week 1 @HOU Week 2 NYGWeek 3 @SFHe hasn't been really tested.3.If you say OUCH to that downgrade, what do you say for FWP for Portis?

I don't like the first trade at all pesonally, CJ is SUPER #1 and Fitz is just #1A. Unless Boldin gets hurt, which he better not cuz I have him, Fitz won't reach CJ's numbers this year. C. Henry is out this week and maybe longer, so CJ is going to increase his numbers I guarantee. The second trade may bite you in the ### if Smith doesn't return healthy and dominate. Cadillac has been ineffective for the year; Deuce is second fiddle to the Bush show. Gore is lighting things up right now! I hope it works out for you, but I would have traded FOR your players if I had the crap they dealt. Good Luck!

Dont know that you can claim that CJ is SUPER #1 after what TJ & Henry have done to start the season......

No way would I have dealt McNabb for who you got. One big hit on Portis' shoulder, and he is out! You should stop worrying about the playoffs because you might not get there. Culpepper is useless with his bum knee, S Smith is on the verge of popping his hamstring, so Delhomme becomes worthless if he goes out. Seems like you dealt a sure thing for a bunch of guys with lingering injuries. Parker may have a tough schedule, but as the weather cools, you know the Steeler running machine will pound away.

Wayne for Taylor was a good deal as Chester has looked strong so far. I think he will put up solid points all season. Wayne will be a good WR, but he is not the #1 for Peyton, Taylor will outscore him.

As for FWP vs Portis, in my opinion you downgraded there or at least broke even, particularly in a keeper/dynasty format. Is there another team more loyal to RBs than PIT?

The Wayne/Taylor deal was great for you. The McNabb deal was brutal. A 50% decline at QB just so you can have a slightly better RB? That's

If I was going to deal my top 3 starters, I would make sure my centerpiece trade didn't involve getting anybody I didn't think was safe back. I don't think (and I'd bet many people here agree) Portis is safe. So I'd value Parker a tick higher than Portis. McNabb is way above Culpepper. I think you would've gotten a lot more back if you openly shopped them separately. Maybe if you had tried to do McNabb & Parker for Taylor & a RB.

The 2nd deal leaves you thin at WR.

The worst thing I see: highly dependent on CAR passing game. You've now got Delhomme as your #1 QB, and Meshawn as your #2 WR. If Smith gets hurt again it probably will be okay for Keyshawn. If Delhomme gets hurt, your season is likely toast, you have crap at QB1 & WR2. Your eggs are in the Delhomme basket now.

I disagree, I think I upgraded for this year at RB a good amountFor the future, I think I upgraded considerably in Portis for FWP

I may not make it, thats the risk, but nothing like going 11-2 and getting knocked out in the 1st RD.You are right in the "IF" departmentThose could happen....or not
