Andy Reid has been known to go against the grain on draft day. Selecting a top O-lineman is never mortifying...only disapointing to fans who wanted a flashy WR or RB.I would be mortified if Albert went to the Eagles.Hey guys I just updated ITI's the latest Mock Draft. You can check it out here>>

Yes, this would be a helpful haul. But I think (hope) they take Stewart if he is available at 22. As you mentioned there's options at corner so Cason could wait or be a different name and a true stud RB who fits the profile perfectly can be brought in to work with Barber. I don't expect Stewart to be there and if he isn't this draft would make me very happy.A few notes on the mock.I think Nicks and Fred Davis are freefalling over maturity issues. Carlson ran a very fast 40 at his pro day. He is faster than Davis. I'm expecting him or Keller to be TE 1 and Fred Davis to be 3rd. I felt like the RBs fell too far. They are a fine crop and there is plenty of need out there with nice depth at a few other positions. It will be an interesting thread to the draft for me anyway. I think Chris Johnson is just about a lock for the first round and/or Felix too. Forte probably doesn't get out of the second round with Charles and Rice. Though I could see Rice fall that far. From a Cowboy perspective, I like it. A lot.1.22 Kenny Phillips1.28 Antoine Cason2.61 Jamal Charles3.92 Donnie Avery
You know what? That would be a perfect scenario I never thought of. Wow. I would LOVE that move for the Bills. We would get a great CB to come in to be our #1 (McGee was better suited to be our #2). And then we would still be able to get our WR in the 1st and not have to reach for him. Darn, I really like that idea. I'll make a call to Ralph and see if I can help make that happen.i like it a lotdont count out Phil and Buf swapping 1sts for Lito S
I would love to see the Bills take Schmitt in the 4th or possibly 5th if he lasts that long. The guy is a throwback FB that the Bills are looking to use this year. He would be a great fit for the organization.homer: No Slaton or Schmitt in 1st 3 rounds?
You should call them and tell them this.I would love to see the Bills take Schmitt in the 4th or possibly 5th if he lasts that long. The guy is a throwback FB that the Bills are looking to use this year. He would be a great fit for the organization.homer: No Slaton or Schmitt in 1st 3 rounds?
Ooh, good point. I already talked to Jauron about it, but I should probably tell Ralph just in case **** forgets. You should call them and tell them this.I would love to see the Bills take Schmitt in the 4th or possibly 5th if he lasts that long. Ellis to the Chiefs is kinda crazy with their oline issues....I like it a lot actually. It would be nuts, but something about it appeals to me.westbrook36 said:Hey guys I just updated ITI's the latest Mock Draft. You can check it out here>>

I hear the Skins really like Albert. That would probably be very disappointing to them, but there are plenty of other good players that will be available.Meast21 said:I would be mortified if Albert went to the Eagles.

Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed it. I see JJ as a RB would be best if you split his carries with other backs and be more of a third down back. I see TJ as a short yardage/goaline back, and the report I read says the Seahawks will cut Alexander after June 1. This would leave a vacancy for a number 1 RB, and I think Stewart would be the guy.B Maverick said:i must not have looked hard enough but i didnt find anything to complain about!
Chargers take an OT, nice
Mendenhall to Az i like
Interesting choice to have stewart still go to Seattle after the JJ and Duckett signings
Rice to Chi works
Charles to dallas makes sense
FJones to Det in the 2nd would be a good choice for them.
although mcfadden to the jets is getting to be as popular as to Oak but i like it.
Thank you very much!Ridgelake said:From a Cowboy perspective, I like it. A lot.
1.22 Kenny Phillips
1.28 Antoine Cason
2.61 Jamal Charles
3.92 Donnie Avery
Phillips is one of the last first round graded players on the board. Its a position of desired upgrade. Its a thin position as well, so grabbing him here makes a lot of sense. I don't think a 1st roudn graded corner falls to 22, placing the value at another position. Its likely to be either safety or RB. Outside chance of a WR, but I doubt it.
Cason gives Dallas an experience man-to-man corner who can come in immediately and help on the nickel. Flowers is the other guy I expect here. These are guys at the top of the second round graded CBs, and represent reasonable value at 28, but less so at 22 where a 1st round graded prospect can be obtained.
Charles fits a big need. He probably will be just as good as Felix, so why burn a 1st roudner when a comparable guy can be had with a 2nd? Don't be surprised if its Matt Forte instead though.
Avery is a speed guy developmental WR. Does he replace Miles Austin on the roster? Another possibility is a NT like Okram.
This mock really addresses both the needs of the team and the value on the board when Dallas is picking. Among the best that I've seen from that perspective.
Thanks for checking it out and the kind words. Dallas has set themselves up with options having the two first round picks. I am sure moving up is one of those options that they are considering. I agree with you that Dallas will probably get a vet receiver in the future. I can't think of a very good Cowboys WR that they drafted since Irvin.{Syrus} said:I think this is as decent a mock draft as you'll find anywhere. I really like that Dallas doesn't address RB until second round.
Some thoughts about Dallas:
*If Dallas doesn't trade up, I strongly feel they will select S, Kenny Philips then a CB in round 1. Ken Hamlin is playing under the franchise tag this coming year. With the upcoming contract extensions of Demarcus Ware (he'll break the bank), Marion Barber, Terrance Newman, and possibly trading for a veteran WR at some point with a big contract, Dallas may not have the luxury of extending Ken Hamlin with a big contract. While Ken Hamlin was good last year, his play may not be good enough yet still to merit an extension in Dallas--something has to be expendable if you are to extend your star players. By drafting Kenny Phillips Dallas gets a very talented, possibly even more talented than Ken Hamlin, safety at a fraction of the cost on a mult-year rookie contract. Kenny Phillips could make either Ken Hamlin or Roy Williams expendable and maintain quality play in the safety position, whichever the case Phillips gives them many options to work with within their salary cap situation and provides talent on the field. Phillips could be the next great Miami safety in the NFL.
*I don't think Dallas, much to the dismay of many, will draft a RB in round 1. They'll forgo both McFadden AND Felix Jones. Marion Barber is the lead dog in Dallas, bar none. A competent RB compliment doesn't have to come from round 1, besides, Dallas doesn't need a RB controversey. Round 1 RB's want to be starters. If Dallas drafts a RB in round 1, I see that as a sign that they don't intend to extend Marion Barber's contract and are drafting their future starter once Barber is gone. Barber is loved too much in Dallas not to be extended.
*Dallas will trade for a veteran WR, if not this year then next (ROY WILLIAMS) They usually don't do well developing rookies. So I don't see them drafting a WR until at least round 3 where they're simply taking a shot in the dark.
Thanks for pointing that out. I ran spell check, but I guess I should have read over everything to make sure it is ok.sholditch said:You might want to get an editor/proofreader to look at this stuff before you post it.
49. Philadelphia Eagles - RB Chris Johnson, Eastern Carolina
* This may not be an immediate need, but the Eagles tend to draft for the future. Johnson has a similar skill set to Brian Westbrook with blazing fast speed, a great ability to catch the ball out of the backfield, and he has illusiveness in the open field. The Eagles tried to get another speed back to compliment Westbrook with Ryan Moats, but he has not worked out well. Johnson would fit into our offense much better than Moats did in my opinion, and he is a dangerous kick returner which is a huge plus. VIDEO>>
My thinking was Marion Barber is good enough to be a start, and in a deep RB class Dallas could wait to draft one. It would be very hard to pass on Stewart though, because of how talented he is. I think I have all the RBs falling far, because I do not value the position very high. Forte and Jones I probably have much lower than where they could end up going.Chaos Commish said:Yes, this would be a helpful haul. But I think (hope) they take Stewart if he is available at 22. Thanks! I heard that rumor last week. I am guessing the Eagles would target either Chris Williams or Branden Albert at 11. I would miss Lito though.i like it a lot

haha. sorry about that. maybe they will prove me wrong, and go in the first round!homer: No Slaton or Schmitt in 1st 3 rounds?
Actually, CB is a HUGE need for the Bills. I would say the 2nd largest next to WR.With that said, I would love it if Chevis Jackson fell to us in the 3rd. It would slightly make up for the reaches in the first 2 rounds. The Bills went offense with their first two picks, but now they focus on the defensive side of the ball. CB is not a huge need, but they could use another guy in the mix. This is a very deep CB class, and Jackson could be a steal in the third round
few more you might want to take a look at 33. St. Louis Rams - LB Dan Connor, Penn StateSan Francisco 49ers Draft Logo 29. San Fransisco 49ers (From Colts) - DE Quentin Groves, Auburn
* The Rams draft another DE to finish the complete overhaul to their defensive line. Groves is a great pass rusher who can play DE in a 4-3 or OLB in a 3-4. With the drafting of Adam Carriker and Claude Wroten last year, and the additions of Chris long and Quentin Groves this year, the Rams could have one of the most feared d-lines in the NFL. VIDEO>>
* Other Possible Picks: Antoine Cason, Sam Baker, Early Doucet
opps! I shuffled around some things, and must have forgotten to change that. better fix that up now!few more you might want to take a look at 33. St. Louis Rams - LB Dan Connor, Penn StateSan Francisco 49ers Draft Logo 29. San Fransisco 49ers (From Colts) - DE Quentin Groves, Auburn

The Super Bowl Champsland a great player here. Dan Connor is a very good linebacker who could step right in as a rookie and start. Connor is the all time leading tackler at Penn State, and he is the winner of the Chuck Bednarik award. VIDEO>>
*
Other Possible Picks: Antoine Cason, Sam Baker, Tracy Porter
ok fixed that lolSammy Morris was not even close to be dissappointing!!!!!I'm very much looking forward to seeing on the field in 2008!
The Rams have a huge need for a MLB. Will Witherspoon is a great player, but he is better off at OLB. Dan Connor is the all time leading tackler at Penn State, and he is the winner of the Chuck Bednarik award. The Rams would be pleasantly surprised if he fell to them here.VIDEO>>
I tihnk you have too many WRs going in the first round. As a group their stock is slipping, and I wouldn't be surprised to see teams let them fall feeling there would be as good an option available in the second.westbrook36 said:Hey guys I just updated ITI's the latest Mock Draft. Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.Love it as a Bengals fan. Disappointed to miss out on Ellis, but love the pick of Simpson at the end of the third.DE - Derrick HarveyDT - Pat SimsLB - Marcus HowardWR - Jerome SimpsonI will take this right now, no complaints at all.
Agreed. I've been saying for some time that if DAL is serious about getting to the SB they need to beef up the secondary with BOTH picks in the 1st. I like Charles and Avery afterwards. Great job. From a Cowboy perspective, I like it. A lot.1.22 Kenny Phillips1.28 Antoine Cason2.61 Jamal Charles3.92 Donnie AveryPhillips is one of the last first round graded players on the board.
