30 MPH Winds in Oakland. Adjust Accordingly? (1 Viewer)

No change for me. I'll be starting Carr & Cooper across multiple leagues w/ zero concerns. Weather concerns tend to be way over-emphasized.

From the Carr thread Yesterday:
Anyone else concerned with the forecast tmrw?
Storm blowing through in the AM. Gusty winds all day. 20-30 MPH. Not great.
That weather should make Teddy fans more nervous, he's the one with Pennington Arm Syndrome.
Is OAK passing offense more vertical or horizontal?

Short passes wouldn't be a problem. Deep ones...probably.
I wouldn't put too much stock in a weather forecast over 24 hours before the game. Lots of things would have to fall into place for it to have a meaningful impact on the game. The winds would have to be centralized around O.Co, they would have to coincide with the game, they would have to make it into the stadium (which acts as a wind break), they would have to gust while Oakland was on offense and they would have to continue for the entire 3+ hours of the game.

I'm wouldn't worry about it until you see a pregame shot of the flags on the goal posts being blown to heck.

While I agree for the most part, I'm hesitant to go all in on this game. Wind is the one factor that does change games, far more so than rain/snow/cold. Carr and Bridgewater don't have the biggest arms in the league either. 25MPH winds may have a big effect on this game. I expect to see a lot of Latavius and Peterson.

Well? What are the flags doing then?

  • PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
  • A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT WIND GUSTS OF AT LEAST 45 MPH ARE EXPECTED. WINDS THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT... ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. POWER OUTAGES ARE POSSIBLE.

I'm sitting Diggs for Crowder in one league and Martavis in another. Just don't trust the VIkings pass game in this situation. Good luck to those who have the stones.

Wind means more shorter passing routes. at the end of the day, wind won't change a first down; it's still 10 yards. Might change pass selection of more short passes, which is great for ppr.

I own Diggs and am starting him with confidence. Guys a possession WR and if its 3rd and 7 I doubt the Vikings will run the ball...
