Is the auction a slow auction? I tried to join one of these RSO leagues because the contracts aspect looked cool but was told by the commish of that league that it was impossible to do slow auction at RSO.

It is because your bidding on player contracts. There is a rookie serpentine 5 round draft followed by the auction draft. It does not get any more real then this site.

20 to choose player and 10 seconds after offering contract for player to accept or reject.

20 seconds. It's an auction. Each team nominates a player with a bidding and has 20 seconds to do so (basically your on the clock). Then you win if no one outbids you and the players algorythm will accept your offer. Each bid resets clock for another 10 seconds until time runs out or player accepts an offer.
