It seems to me that 309 yards per game is almost a lock for this Saints team - and it's not like they can rest him, since they'll be fighting for the division at best.

309 per game is an awful lot of yards, even for a team that puts it in the air that much. One has to think that Brees will have a couple of clunkers along the way, particularly against tougher defenses, that will make it hard to get to Marino.

I think he gets reasonably close as long as he's healthy, but still somewhat shy of Marino.

voted yes because while he may have a couple of 200 yard type games he'll have a couple of 400 yard games to offset them.

I don't understand why the Saints played their first team offense through the whole game this past weekend, when they were stomping the Raiders. It's a very risky thing to do.

To help out Addai owners who also own Brees and/or Bush?

Brees *is* off to an incredible start. He's got the 2nd most passing yards through six weeks of any QB since '02. The 1st guy was Drew Bledsoe, 2002.

They didn't. Brunell was in for a bit.

Ah, remember the glory days of Bledsoe to Moulds and Price.

He did have a "clunker" earlier this year. 216 yards and 2 INTS against Washington in week 2. With that game, he's still averaging 330+ a game right now

Daggon right he will!

I don't know what it is off the top of my head, but his completion percentage on balls that he throws 30+ yards is off the charts. It's to the point where everytime he cocks back to heave one downfield, I'm already celebrating a big play.

Unreal.

When you consider that he has done what he has done without Colston for much of the season, it is incredible. He will get Colston back soon and that is why I think he will do it.

Fair point - and also without Shockey. Brees has been more than getting by with Lance Moore as his top receiver (and Bush, of course), so even better days may be ahead.I still Brees will still end up a bit short of Marino, but nonetheless will have a monster year if he stays healthy.

Is 309/game the record or does your league offer bonuses after 308 yards?
1993+309x10=5083He'd be right at Marino's record. Another one to keep an eye on: If the season were to end today he'd break the record for completion percentage. And he should end up close to his completion record as well.
