Anyway, I work with a guy who considers himself a "draftnik". He gets every draft publication worth the paper it's written on and runs everything through an application he has that compiles all the scores and comes up with an overall average. He adds a few categories of his own that he thinks might be valid (SSR=size/speed ratio). He sends this list to local sports talk radio stations as well as the news networks, newpapers, and some message boards he's affiliated with. He spends hundreds of dollars and probably as many hours researching and crunching numbers for this list. So if anyone knows how I can get it to paste in here let me know. The problem is when I try to paste it it wraps back around so the columns don't stay aligned. How can I post it without it getting wrapped and throwing everything out of whack?

Guys...I hate computers...how do I post it to a link? I have it in a Notepad format as well as Microsoft Excel.

Save the file as a .prn file from Excel. This creates a text file with fixed width columns. Cut and paste from this file and wrap in code tags. Should do the trick.

I will say it looks much better in Excel though...

The columns still aren't aligned right though. There should be nothing underneath the names except for the name of the next ranked player. Oh well...better than nothing I guess. I wonder if Memphis Foundry is having any better luck.

Yeah, the fact that many of these are pay rankings means that I can't post this outright but I will remove the pay stuff and post just the difference and average columns along with the player info.

He didn't rank any of the players. He just averaged their rankings using all the publications to come up with one all inclusive average. Basically coming up with one master ranking sheet. The only thing he added was the SSR (size/speed ratio) which even further breaks down a players athleticism compared to his position. Say Mario Williams has a 7.66 SSR rating, then the next highest rated DE has a SSR rating of 7.47...that's almost 2/10 of a point in difference. Some may think that is substantial and others may not. But where it may come into better use is when you compare his SSR to say Reggie Bush whom has a 6.74. Which basically says, for his size, Mario Williams is a bad mofo! And Reggie Bush being the super stud he is, is not as much of an athlete as Mario is for his size. Like I said, this kind of a list is for those people that like to break things down to the most minute fraction. It just kinda makes my head hurt.

You beat me to the punch... if possible, I would make it "filterable"... where you can only select the WRs (from a dropdown list) that have a "under 4.45/40" and a 90+ rating according to ESPN... etc.(I've created an excel spreadsheet with that information... where you can make any calculation possible... per. ex - what's the standard deviation of Laurence Maroney's rankings comparatively to the average of RBs - to see if it's only 2 or 3 "draft experts" that are in love with him - or if it's a generalised feeling...)

Making it "filterable"/"sortable" would surely make that thread "pinnable" here to say the least... having the predraft rankings of 9 highly touted publications weighted in an overall ranking...

I think you are still better off with having ? as the headers... since this information is coming from paying sites/publications...

You guys need to remember that this list is a compiled list which averages all the publications scores. I'm sure V.Davis still rates out to be the #1 TE by far if you look at the other TE's.In the original document that he gave me he has a category that compares him to all the other TE's as well as all other prospects. But the mathematical equations he uses are just too much I think. We already know that V. Davis is the best ranked TE and we already know that Mario Williams is just as much of a freak at DE. If you guys would like me to email the entire document to you I'd be willing but I'm serious when I say the math he uses is a bit too much. The guy uses square roots and fractions etc, etc...it would take me a while just to figure out what he was thinking when he made them up.

Didn't check, but it's doubtful two of the players the Bengals drafted as special teams help (Ethan Kilmer and Bennie Brazell) would have made a list like this. Neither were considered NFL ready talent at their listed position (both WRs in college I believe).

Didn't check, but it's doubtful two of the players the Bengals drafted as special teams help (Ethan Kilmer and Bennie Brazell) would have made a list like this. Neither were considered NFL ready talent at their listed position (both WRs in college I believe).

Probably true, and WRs suffered a great deal in the draft unexpectedly, but since he has the spreadsheet I'm sure he can check.

He said he won't start getting his publications until March sometime. I believe he had it ready about two weeks before the actual draft last year. I'll be sure to send it to those interested.
