3rd round RBs (1 Viewer)

Everytime I do a mock my strategy is usually to go WR-WR (because I am in PPR) the first two rounds and take a RB in the third.

Everytime I opt to take a RB in the third these same RBs are available for the most part. Some are more risk/reward than others.

My personal rankings are

Ronnie Brown

Ryan Grant

Pierre Thomas

Kevin Smith

Some other RBs slip or people reach on but these 4 are pretty consistently there. I think this thread will help others trying to decide which oen to pull the trigger on as well.

Ronnie Brown's falling to the 3rd? Steal.

After him

Ryan Grant - starting the season healthy, reasonable to expect something like his 2nd half of each of the last 2 seasons

Pierre Thomas - more upside than Smith, higher TD ceiling and with Bush's knee still acting up he could be in line for a similar amount of touches in a more explosive offense

Kevin Smith - good but not great talent that will get a lot of touches on what should be a bad offense behind a bad o line

Is Jacobs falling to round 3 too? or is he going in round 2? In non ppr I prefer him to all of Grant, Thomas, and Smith.

Ronnie is consistently in the th third round, with a few exceptions.Jacobs is middle of the second. Have yet to see him in the third. THAT would be a steal.

RBrown - most talent, nice OL

Thomas - I love RB on explosive offenses

Grant - like him, but a little worried about lack of TDs like '08

Smith - like him, but worried about poor team

Yeah Ronnie has been going in the third for awhile. I think all 4 of these RBs have the potential to atleast match the 2nd round Rbs. Which is why I think this is the best year to grab a WR in the second. These 3rd Rbs are not bad at all.
