$40 - Tired of the boring standard leagues? (1 Viewer)

I have openings in a league for dedicated owners interested in trying a very different type of league. It uses a scoring system I have built from the ground up. It involves many more choices in roster management and game strategy than usual. It is a very intriguing game - and one that allows for an unprecedented degree of planning and strategy.

LEAGUE PAGE

For example:

Gameplanning:

Your team defense (and IDPs) affect your opponent's individual players in different ways (high Rushing Yards Against stat would benefit your opponent's RB, for example, lower Rushing Yards Against stat would hurt opponent's RBs). You plan which defense and which IDPs to start based on what you perceive your opponent's strengths to be. This is the only rule-set that I know of that allows you to interact with your opponent's team in a meaningful way.

Player Roles:

Your starting lineup is classified into more specific positions than usual. There is a Starting Quarterback and a Backup Quarterback (whose points are only counted if the starter plays terribly). Your receivers are split between Starting Wideout, Slot Receiver, and Backup Receiver. RBs can be Feature Back, or 3rd Down Back, or Backup Runing Back. There are a total of 19 starting positions - each with different scoring formulas for their stats to reflect the different roles that are on a typical NFL team (slot receiver rewarded more for receptions and 1st downs than rec. yards, for instance). They are also uniquely affected by your opponent's Team Defense and IDPs. Because of so much player depth on each team (30 total roster spots), the league will be very competitive in an 8-team format.

Scoring Sheet :

The head-to-head scoring is done by inputing the stats as shown on the MFL live scoring page into an Excel file that I have posted on the league page. It takes into account all of the scoring formulas and defensive game planning modifiers and displays your teams total points - and is the product of a lot of off-season testing. Should an owner prefer not to input statistics they may opt to put an additional $15 into the winner's pool and the commissioner will provide that service for them.

Custom scoring has been programmed into the league website which approximates, to the best of myfantasleague.com's ability, the fantasy point weighting for all the stats. This is intended to be used to allow for quick player research and comparison - but because of the interactive nature of each head-to-head matchup, a player's value will be unique to each individual game (just like in real football).

League fee is $40 (100% payout minus league cost) via paypal. Draft setup for Tuesday September 6th at 7:15pm PT / 10:15pm ET. An in-depth rulebook to the league is available on the league page.

Commitment and Responsibility:

I am looking for interested, intelligent, and dedicated owners to participate in this league. With a good group of committed owners each with an active interest in the league and in the NFL in general, this will be a great success and a hell of a fun way to spend the 2011 season -
