This is a remarkable story and it bears retelling:
A man with no hand and lower arm and with half a foot played in the NFL.
And he set a record that still stands, 40 years ago yesterday.
The Saints crowd erupted like they had won the Super Bowl. This is a football town, always has been (well before the Saints), and this is still, maybe after the Super Bowl win, the most cherished memory in what had been a pretty roughshod franchise history.
Tom is still around, is easy to run across and he is a great guy to talk to, truly an inspiring person.
