49ers at Falcons (1 Viewer)

Hell of a game. As a Falcons fan I'm obviously in some pain, but dang we were really close. I thought going into it that SF was the better team. Knew it was still a contest at 17-0. I hope people change their thinking on Matt Ryan. The guy had a hell of a game. Almost 400 yards and 3 touchdowns. If he had a defense behind him who knows how the last few playoff runs turn out.

I'd be more upset about the non-call if we had done anything on offense in the 2nd half. You put up 24 pts in the first half and nothing in the 2nd half - ATL had their chances and turned it over twice and didn't get it done at the end.

Congrats to the 49ers, always been a Moss fan so hope he gets one.

But for all the pundits who rode the 49ers jock and how much better they are, they were certainly wrong, two even team and the 49ers made 1 more play and had 1 less mistake.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
 Stay classy, if Falcons wouldn't have won, I certainly wouldn't feel the need to put down other teams fans. Congrats again on the win.
Do you know what KYOA means in internet speak?
drummer is a giant #######???

Love all the Jim Harbaugh hate. You guys are REALLY gonna hate seeing him hoist the Lombardi trophy.
Nah. I'm actually pulling for the Niners despite Harbaugh's d-baggery. I think he's a great coach but also a major jerk. If you take off the homer glasses you'd have to admit the same. The post-game panel even called him out on it--not a classy move by the coach. One of many on his resume.
Still not sure what you guys are talking about... just saw a clip of him shaking Smith's hand after the game. And the post game crew said he declined the locker room interview (which he also did last year), what's the big deal?

Take it out the end zone on 4th?
That's probably the right call.
I disagree. Puts ATL with a FG and getting the ball
He gets the ball in the end zone and just runs towards the sideline. After the kickoff there's no time left.
Unless they fumble or the guy is tackled at the one yard line. I think the kick is safer.
Considering he took the snap on the goal line, I doubt he gets tackled on the one unless JaDaveon Clowney secretly came in for the Falcons.
So you actually believe a team should put their season in the hands of the punter running with the ball, one play from the super bowl? Are you kidding me? That would be the dumbest thing I've ever seen. The defense comes after him hard, tackles him just inside the end zone and I guarantee the guy fumbles a quarter of the time.
Doesn't have to be the punter.
Not advocating it but you could also just snap it through the end zone too
Doesn't burn any time. Put a a wildcat RB back there to receive the snap. Have him make a bee line for the sideline then slide before going out of bounds. Between that and the kickoff there's no time left.

Pretty sad Harbaugh won't come up and at least congratulate the Falcons on a game well played - I guess he never learned much sportsmanship
:goodposting: Jim Harbaugh being classy as ever.
What gives? They showed him giving what appeared to be a calm, sincere "good game" handshake... what's he supposed to do, apologize for making someone feel bad?

Was wondering the same myself... Guess if there's no gossip to be had, make some up?

After seeing the replay, I wonder if Ryan was concerned about his pass hitting the umpire and threw it a little too far behind Roddy. If he throws in front of White, Bowman wouldn't have been able to get his hand on the ball.
:goodposting: If Ryan would have thrown the ball in front of White, I think pass interference would have been called. Also, the Falcons have to do a better job of making adjustments once the other team counters. They were too conservative with a 17-0 lead. I would have liked to see the no-huddle more.I'm a Cowboys fan living in Atlanta and I'm going to need the Falcons to reduce silly mistakes. My heart cannot take both teams.

A Falcon fan on Sirius called Matty Ryan "Romo Jr" today, and said that he fell apart two straight second halves. What do you think?

I hate the Matty Ice nickname. :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: I could deal with Matt Ice. He's a man and no need for the 'y'. To me it sounds like an opponent gave him that nickname :) .I don't think the interception was his fault but the fumble did give me a Romo flashback. The Falcons have to address RB, defensive line and TE this off-season.
