49ers owner John York is ``supportive'' of Mike Nolan's plan to bring another experienced NFL executive into the front office, and the coach has begun interviewing candidates for the yet-to-be-titled position.
In a conference call Wednesday, Nolan said he has discussed the job with Atlanta Falcons chief administrative officer Ray Anderson and Mike Reinfeldt, the vice president of football administration for the Super Bowl-bound Seattle Seahawks.
Anderson is a former sports agent, and Reinfeldt went from a standout defensive back in the NFL to seasoned front-office executive, where he has worked for Seattle and Green Bay over the past 14 years. Both men deal largely with salary-cap management and contract negotiations.
Nolan has been vague about the parameters of the new front-office position, but he has said that he would like to bring in someone whom he and Scot McCloughan, the team's vice president of player personnel, could lean on in making personnel decisions.
