The San Francisco 49ers announced Sunday that they have traded RB Kevan Barlow to the New York Jets for an undisclosed 2007 draft pick. The trade is contingent on Barlow passing a physical.

Barlow (6-1, 234) originally joined the 49ers as a third round draft pick out of Pittsburgh in 2001.

Said head coach Mike Nolan on the trade, “This is a great opportunity for Kevan because of New York’s need at running back. Kevan has been committed to our program and done well. With the depth at running back we felt we could make this move.”

Barlow started and played in 12 games in 2005 before going on injured reserve late in the season with a knee injury. He finished second on offense in rushing with 176 carries for 581 yards, also tying for team-lead with Frank Gore and Maurice Hicks with three rushing touchdowns.

Originally a third round (80th pick overall) draft choice by San Francisco in 2001, Barlow started 30 games for the 49ers and produced a 1,000-yard rushing season in 2004 with his career-high 1,024 yards on the ground.

Looking forward to seeing:

-how the Oak Oline is coming.

-how Gore looks (Dang West coast teams that suck, never get to watch them on the East coast.)

-how Bryant and Smith look together.

-how the 9ers D looks this year.

-if SF Oline is really any better.

-Brooks throwing to Moss more this game.

So where does that move Gore and Barlow on the the ADP?One would think they both move up. I have Gore up to 2nd tier. Any projections for Barlow with the Jets?

Looking forward to seeing:-how the Oak Oline is coming.-how Gore looks (Dang West coast teams that suck, never get to watch them on the East coast.)-how Bryant and Smith look together.-how the 9ers D looks this year.-if SF Oline is really any better.-Brooks throwing to Moss more this game.
Oak O line in "transition" -- a year away. Gore - very quick, better than Barlow Bryant - Smith look good together but they haven't really stretched the field. You will be amazed at how different Smith looks this year -- they are rolling him out and moving him a lot and his mechanics are troubling (lots of throwing w/o setting up) but the results have been way better than before. SF O Line is 1000% better. They've been protecting Moss and he's been chafing over it but I think it's smart.

Gore clearly moves up a good bit now. Barlow, I'm not so sure. It's really hard to say where at on the depth chart he will be right now. NYJ seems like they are just throwing darts blindly and seeing what sticks.

GB having no context to the statement. :lmao: It was the other guys who said the comment 1st as a lead in question to Bettis. The were talking about how SA had a great year and Sea did as well but they he is missing a certian peice of hardware that "you have Jerome," as he points to the ring. What was Bettis supposed to say? Ahhh, no I don't know what you guys are talking about, what hardware? Funny how touchy you Seahawk fans are.

It was supposed to be either a handoff or a play-action pass; the ball slipped out of Brooks' hands before the running back got there. Looks like last year; the Niners defense is the solution to any team having problems throwing the ball.

3-8-OAK 45 (1:28) A.Brooks pass incomplete deep left to A.Whitted.punt
This was a long pass, 40 yards through the air. Brooks led Whitted just a little too much; a better WR would have made the reception, Whitted didn't even seem to try very hard, though he got his fingers on it.

Hey, at least Alex Smith can tackle. (Awful pass intercepted by Huff, Smith trips Huff at the 15 to save a TD. Until the Niners defense takes the field, at least).

In general, the Raiders look solid (or at least competent) on both sides of the ball.

The news of their demise may have been exaggerated. :D

Oakland Raiders begin at 13:36

1-10-SF 15 (13:36) L.Jordan right end to SF 5 for 10 yards (S.Davis).

1-5-SF 5 (13:10) L.Jordan left tackle to SF 1 for 4 yards (J.Maxwell).

3-1-SF 1 (11:51) A.Brooks pass middle to C.Anderson for 1 yard, TOUCHDOWN NULLIFIED by Penalty. PENALTY on OAK-C.Anderson, Offensive Pass Interference, 10 yards, enforced at SF 1 - No Play.

Bad call (according to the announcers: they didn't have a camera angle on it) on Courtney Anderson, offensive pass interference on a TD pass. Next play, Brooks hits Anderson in both hands in the end zone, ball pops into the air and is intercepted.

C. Anderson TD called back due to Offensive PI

3rd goal from the 11 and the ball is tipped in the endzone for a pick.

Probably not the best decision but a good throw by Brooks before the tip.

Wasn't LJ one of the best GL backs last year (not 100% sure...going off of memory) why not let him opund it twice.

It seems that what the 9ers were thinking too, since the pass play worked (other than the weak penalty call).

Jordan had 6 TDs on 16 attempts, which is below average. And the pass went for a TD, so it's hard to second-guess the call.
