I like this idea because it shouldn't cost the Jets much, it'll give them the veteran QB they'll need if one of the other 3 guys don't beat him out in camp or a quality backup if the starter goes down. plus, a guy like Warner, Garcia, Collins is just Favre 2.0. we'll never see what the young guys can do if they keep signing overpriced aging QBs. hopefully, they learned their lesson.

I wish I could say it was my original thinking, but I've read it in a few places. There was also a comment made by someone in the organization (Tannenbaum? - I can't find it now) that it's important for them to have someone with a strong arm who can cut through the Meadowlands winds. While I've seen Garcia's name linked to the Jets since McCown's re-signing with TB, I don't see Garcia being the guy with that arm strength they are looking for. And Collins I really believe will stay in Tennessee... so... Leftwich seems to be a fit. Good enough to start, not so good that one of the younger guys is impeded from taking over when ready in another year (or this year if one of them can beat him out).

I'm not a big Garcia fan and I don't want to see him on the Jets, but in his defense he did pretty good with the Iggles (06), in the second half of the season no less, and the "Stink" is just 100 miles south of the Meadowlands. the winds there are just as bad.yes. that is why I (also) think Leftwich is a good fit for the Jets. It's not going to surprise anyone if Leftwich gets beat out in camp, but I'm not going to be upset if he's our week one starter either. This would be a good opportunity for him to possibly become a starter again. Stranger things have happened, look at Warner. What better way for first year coach, Rex Ryan to show he's not playing favorites and get the best out of everyone and declare open competition at all spots starting with the most important.

Dunno, just a hunch (albeit one that was made after a few too many Heinekens). Still don't know about Ricky and just think Sproles could be a great partner with Brown.As a Cutler owner I'd love Arrington to go to Denver.
