5 Bold Predictions for the 2018 Season (1 Viewer)

My bold predictions for the 2018-2019 season:

The Vikings WILL NOT repeat as NFC North Champs seeing as that honor will go to the Packers

The Chargers, Texans, and Jets will all make playoffs after not making playoffs last year; Chargers win AFC West, Texans and Jets Wild Card

Matt Ryan will win MVP for 2nd time in 3 seasons

Sam Darnold will win Offensive Rookie of the Year

and #1:

THE FALCONS WILL MAKE HISTORY BY BECOMING THE FIRST TEAM TO NOT ONLY PLAY THE SUPER BOWL IN THEIR HOME STADIUM, BUT ALSO WIN THE SUPER BOWL IN THEIR HOME STADIUM, AS THEY GET THEIR REVENGE ON THE PATRIOTS 27-24.

Titans most valuable FF back - Akrum Wadley.

AFC East most valuable QB - Josh Allen (okay, 2nd)

Browns make it to the playoffs

Sam Bradford plays 13 games,

Jimmy Garapolo is the 4th best QB. In the NFC West.

1. Clement and Breida power fantasy teams in the playoffs, particularly with TDs.

2. Geseki is a top 12 TE. Has big 2nd half of season.

3. Jarvis Landry is largest rising vet into the top-10 of ppr WRs (from adp of 22).

4. Top IDP rookies will be DL Rasheem Green Sea, LB Darius Leonard Ind, DB Minkah Fitzpatrick Mia.

5. My team finishes in the top 20 of the FBG member contest.

* I skipped any QBs as a bold prediction as there will be very little separation amongst QBs and the position will hold little value at all. I guess that makes six.

Allen, Darnold, Rosen and Mayfield are all starters by mid season (Mayfield last, around week 6).  Allen radically outperforms the other three, and the Bills make the playoffs.

Buffalo 9-7

Jets 5-11

Browns 4-12

Cardinals 6-10

Can't think of five, a bold prediction for me is that Shelton Gibson ends up a WR2. Something along the lines of 70-1000-7

  1. The Browns win a playoff game.
  2. New England loses the AFC East.
  3. Jarvis Landry is a top 10 WR in non-ppr.
  4. The Rams are last in the NFC West.
  5. Saquon Barkley is the 3rd best rookie runningback.
I'd be shocked if any of these happen, but go Bold or go home.

1.  The Bengals win a playoff game.

2.  Josh Allen is the #1 rookie QB for fantasy and a top 18 QB overall.

3.  One of A Brown, L. Bell or Big Ben has a career ending injury

4.  Every NFL team will win at least 3 games.

5.  Roger Goodell will not be the Commissioner one year from today.

1. Bears get hot, get the last wild card spot, and represent NFC in SB

2. QB Controversy between Foles & Wentz

3. TB12 trainer is implicated in Balco type scandal

4. AP Rushes for 1300 yds

5. Lesean Mccoy plays all 16 games

1.  The Bengals win a playoff game.

2.  Josh Allen is the #1 rookie QB for fantasy and a top 18 QB overall.

3.  One of A Brown, L. Bell or Big Ben has a career ending injury

4.  Every NFL team will win at least 3 games.

Dude!

Adrian Peterson 1000 yds rushing

Andrew Luck bottom 1/3 of starting QBs

DJ Moore explodes onto the scene. top 10 WR

Chris Carson 1000 yds rushing

Despite all the Derrius Guice hype, he will have zero offensive yards in 2018
I agree with that one. Also,

Joe Namth doesn't throw a single intercepion all season.

Jason Witten breaks his consecutive games played streak.

At the end of the season, Jerry Rice will be the NFL's all time leader in receiving yards.

The 2019 Super Bowl goes through Atlanta.

Josh Gordon stays clean

Packers make it to the Super Bowl

All players stand during the anthem like real Americans

NFL ratings increase

One of my fantasy teams misses the playoffs

David Njoku will lead all TEs in TDs.

Dion Lewis outscores Derrick Henry in fantasy points.

JuJu Smith-Schuster is a WR1 in fantasy.

Tyler Eifert stays relatively healthy and plays 14 games, gets back to fantasy relevance.

Christian Kirk is a top 25 receiver.

1. Buffalo wins the AFC east, preventing the Pats from taking ten straight. Josh Allen plays just good enough and the bills lean on McCoy/ivory and an aggressive D.

2. Tennessee has the best record in the league. Taywan Taylor erupts for 80/1200/9 and Derrick Henry leads the league in rushing yards.

3. Eric Ebron eclipses Evan Engram.  Alliteration aside, The former EE is a top 5 fantasy TE.

4.  Fournette and Hunt are first round busts as they finish the year as the second best fantasy RBs on their teams.

5. Philadelphia repeats as Super Bowl Champs and Dallas is picking first in next year’s draft.

I'll go @Twenty-Four Eighty-Four better on my first entry:

1) Eifert stays healthy and cracks top 5 TE

2) Christine Michael becomes the Colts' most productive and prolific back this season. (Corollary prediction: The original thread is resurrected, bringing FBG site servers down the first time he scores, then goes on to crack 300 pages.)

3) Carlos Hyde cracks Top 10 RB

4) Kirk Cousins completely falls apart on a new team and ruins this year's SB window for Minny

5) Terelle Pryor scores the most receiving TDs for the Jets

Pitt will have 3 1000yd receivers

Henry leads NFL in rushing

Jimmy G will have more fantasy pts than TB12

Clowney is DPOY

This will be Belichicks last season

David Johnson is #1 RB; shark pool laments that he is 43 years-old

Odell Beckham catches 100 passes for 1600 yards and 14 TDs; NYGs draft a WR in the 2019 first round

Michael Thomas is the runaway #1 WR this season

Carson Wentz outscores the #2 fantasy QB by 150 points; Philly fans remain more interested in Rico Gathers

Nick Vannett is a top 3 TE

Bonus prediction: I win the championship in my dynasty league.

Ty Montgomery scores more rushing TDs than the other GB RBs combined

Julius Thomas finishes as a top 5 TE

Amendola is leading fantasy scorer for Miami and top 15 in league

Spencer Ware scores more fantasy points than Hunt

Bridgewater is traded and leads his new team to a win against MIN in an important game

Gurley is the only "top 4" RB to finish top 4.

Matt Stafford rushes for 5 TDs.

1. AP resurrects his career one last time in DC

2. The Patriots fail to reach the AFC title game

3. Antonio and Ben finally put it all together and Antonio becomes first receiver to reach 2K yards

4. Jimmy G finishes top 5 in MVP votes

5. Sam Bradford starts and stays healthy all 16

Alright, lol on the last one

i love the Winston call, but he's suspended for 3 games. it's not bold to predict any qb who will miss more than one game to be leading anything for the season.

i ended up with Alex Smith in the Anarchy league, but another call I'm wary of. Not having Tyreek and Hunt is a huuuuuuge loss from last year.

now that i got the negativity out of the way...

Derek Carr top 5 QB for regular season to go with Amari Cooper top 10 receiver for the season. Raiders go deep into the playoffs.

Dang, the last one was my favorite. I’ve always liked Bradford.

1. Houston beats New England by 20+ in week one.

2. Barkley is a bust.

3. Darnold wins offensive rookie of the year, leads the Jets to the playoffs. NY sports radio talks about how the Giants should have taken him for the next 12 years.

4. Seattle goes 2-14, worst record in the NFL.

5. Philip Rivers has the best season of his career.  Wins NFL MVP and the Super Bowl, and then retires.

Man, would I love to see this happen...

I guess I should do one too.

• Frank Gore will be a bargain at his ADP & will have at least 1200 APY with 5+ TDS this year.

• Alex Collins will finish the season as a top 5 RB in standard formats, top 12 PPR.

• Mike Evans will be a top 4 WR, and score at least 11 TDs.

• None of Andrew Luck, Ben Roethlisburger or Tom Brady will be top 10 fantasy QBs.

• Todd Gurley will be the best 1st overall fantasy pick since Ladanian Tomlinson, and will lead the game in non-QB scoring.

*Disclosure - I will be drafting Gurley tomorrow night, so that last one may be wishful thinking rather than a bold call. ;)

1. The Browns win a game

2. The Bears make the playoffs

3. Adam Gase is the first head coach fired

4. Ravens,Jags,Saints and Rams in conference championship games

5. Teddy Bridgewater leads a team not named the Jets to the playoffs

Cleveland begins the season with a home win against the Steelers on their way to a 6-10 season.

Derek Carr wins MVP, leading the Raiders to a berth in the super bowl.

Oakland faces the Rams for the title--Gurley goes off for 200 yards in the win.

Barkley has a good rookie season but loses out to upstart QB Josh Rosen who wins ROY.

For the first time in NFL history, no team will run the ball on over 50% of their plays

Jose Gordon gets his $#S# together , F's around and gets a triple double.  He makes the pro bowl, and I'm not talking the guy that makes the pro bowl after the first 4 guys say no.
