Breaking bad

West wing

Friday night lights

Rescue me

Simpsons

This was more difficult then the movies. I really like mad men, rescue me, and nip/tuck about the same. You should have allowed us to pick 7.

Tough...

I could choose ones for periods of my life.

I mean dukes of hazard was an all timer for me as a kid but not as a best show ever. I need to think.

cheers

Seinfeld

NYPD make my list so far...i think

The Wire

Breaking Bad

Game of Thrones

House of Cards

Death Note

Very difficult, a lot more than 5 for me. Honorable mention to Lost, Always Sunny, Curb Your Enthusiasm, House, and Fringe.

Seinfeld - easily #1 for me...Constanza and Kramer are 2 of the greatest characters of all time.

Cheers - One of the all time greats

The Wire - Loved the character development

Homicide Life on the Streets - Underrated but awesome show

The Office - Hung on maybe a season or two too long but still love the humor.

Breaking Bad

The Wire

Seinfeld

Always Sunny

The Andy Griffith Show

Drama:

The Wire

Breaking Bad

Chuck (Technically a comedy, I think, but if it's the not the most emotional show you've ever seen, you aren't doing it right)

The Shield

Friday Night Lights

Comedy:

Parks and Recreation

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Arrested Development

Happy Endings

Malcolm in the Middle

I like a lot of television right now...but I don't think any can compare to how I felt as a kid with those shows.

Game of Thrones

Rome

Mad Men

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Honorable Mention: Big Bang Theory, Star Trek: TOS, Twilight Zone, Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, South Park, Entourage, Modern Family, Mission Impossible

Easier way to get to 5 is to refuse to include comedies and dramas on the same list.

We have too many other 1st world problems to go forcing people to make those kinds of decisions.

1) Twin Peaks

2) Monty Python's Flying Circus

3) The Young Ones

4) Mystery Science Theater 3000

5) Breaking Bad

Seeing The Wire on so many lists bums me out that I couldn't get into it. A show like that should have been up my alley, but I got about halfway through Season 1 TWICE and was totally bored with it, so I just gave up.
