Of all the products that are endorsed by professional athletes, the one I will never try is 5 hour energy. Since 5 hour energy is a 'supplement' and thus does not require FDA approval which would force them to place a possible side effects disclaimer like Viagra, I must conclude the following based upon Edwards' 2008 season, assuming he did not use the product in 2007:
Use may cause loss of basic common sense. Hmmm ... Let's have a race. For a handicap I will run bearfoot, you can wear your spikes.
Use may cause loss in eye hand coordination. How many drops does he have now?
Use may cause loss of sleep. Loss of sleep could lead to general confusion in the huddle, resulting in incorrect route running.
Now I would like to know which of his team mates he has to bring it to every day. I hope he does not give it to K3!
