I found this "match-making" forum a short while back, but then entered into that monster thread involving that AFFL Competition and got sidetracked - HUGE stuff there! I chuckle knowing that I used to think $50.oo was a high entry fee!
My "small time" league is actually the third of three separate $50 competitions that I will host this Fall; the other two filled to 12 and drafted last weekend. There are currently 10 Owners registered for this final league that drafts TOMORROW, Sunday, 9/07/08 at 6:00pm PST. Of this grouping, almost all of them have returned from a previous money competition of mine, so essentially, the money is guaranteed. I've been running the league(s) for about five years, and my group of owners is a rather loyal and dedicated bunch. In fact, in terms of competition, I can argue that this third league I am recruiting for will host the "strongest" of challengers, top to bottom, of my three leagues (based on the fact that I "know" who each owner is from past competitions).
No, the entry fee is not $600.oo, and no, we do not pay out 15K in prizes!
This being said, my leagues offer one of the more unique sets of prizes around, complimented by a creative system of play and Settings design. In short, we play with IDPs, offer 1 Pt Per Reception and utilize Kick Return Yardage. We do NOT reward only to the top two finishers...in fact, the system was design to counter such a heavy split. We will award $10 to the owner who merely scores the highest total for any one week - that's $160.oo in prizes right there (with your placement in the Standings having zero bearing). We will also pay $10 for the owners who combine for the most totals in any of 10 Scoring Categories (such as "MostRushingTDs" or "MostSoloTackles") tabulated throughout the RegSeason and Playoffs, as another way to keep each owner involved until the final weekend. Prizes are also awarded for RegSeason Champ, RegSeason Points Winner and the owner with the one-week single-high score over 16 weeks. Playoff Awards will approximate a $140-$60-$35-$20 pay schedule for 1st~4th. As of this moment, it is set for a Week Two scoring start...but I feel that some could elect for the switch to include Week One.
Here is the Roster: QB, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, W/T, W/R, W/R, K, K, DEF, D, D, DB, DB, DL, DL + 7 Bench slots. VERY DEEP Draft, with great FLEX options!
Again, the competition will be brutal...but in the best of ways! The ownerships are all solid here, and we are merely looking to add in one or two "new" entrants into our slowly-growing pool of players going forward (I will run 3 FBaseball $50 Leagues next season, as I am doing concurrently now). Yes...this is my very first posting here at FGuys.com, and no I cannot provide you all with my Bank Account number and SSN etc...but I am here today to recruit if possible, in honest fashion.
