6 Girls in AZ commit Internet Suicide (T shirt spells N Word) (1 Viewer)

Long story short: the seniors wanted to spell some long message. 6 girls thought it'd be funny to stand next to each other spelling NI**ER (asterisks in original). Photo is taken and leaks. Girls are suspended for 5 days. Internet warriors start reaching out to the colleges the girls are supposed to go to to get scholarships and offers revoked.

What the girls did is dumb, but this is next-level SJW stuff IMO. Punishment way severer that the crime.

Full pick with faces and names is out there. Very easily found.

I thought discretion would be the better part of valor if I didn't want faceless mod to delete the whole thing, because "that's someone's (racist?) daughter, guy."

Why are their faces blurred? Why are they being protected from their own idiocy?
I've seen this with the faces not blurred, I had no idea what the context was but now I get it.

Not long before their names are identified and their work and maybe personal lives are ruined forever. Cautionary tale.

I didn't realize the original pic had stars for 2 of the letters. Don't see how they can get in trouble for it. Could be a number of things.

Maybe they're trying to bring attention to a bulimia epidemic in their school by spelling out nibler.....but they're not smart enough to realize it's nibbler.

I'm a little shocked that in this day and age, people, even young people, can be so clueless. News of anything even remotely racist is plastered everywhere all over the web. Then again, I suppose though they are on the web 24/7, they are teenage girls so it's all mindless social media sites rather than actual news sites.

Meh, I don't see what the big deal is. Kids are stupid, people post stupid #### on twitter everyday. If the SJW lynch mob went after every person who said something racist on social media we would have to shut the internet down.

There are like 6 black people in the entire state of AZ, I seriously doubt these girls are racist. They saw the letters on their shirts could spell out a naughty word and thought it was funny. No different than if they spelled out Ti**ies or Blum**in.

Change.org petition here. (Includes face pic, 214563)

This hurtful use of a racial slur is a complete disregard for the dignity of the black community in Arizona and across the nation and the punishment does not fit the total ignorance and cruelty of the crime. We demand the resignation of the school's principal, Christine Barela, immediately for deeming this 5-day vacation from school an acceptable punishment. The six girls in question need to be expelled from the high school and its district to understand the gravity of their actions to the fullest.
:lmao:

I am also surprised teenagers do dumb things. This must be a new phenomenon.

At least be clever or funny.
A separate picture from a Desert Vista parent on Instagram showed the girls' lettered shirts as part of a larger message spelling out "BEST*YOU'VE*EVER*SEEN*CLASS*OF*2016".

I don't feel like playing Boggle right now but there are probably dozens of funny, dirty, or "clever" words, they could have spelled out. And yet they go with the N Bomb.

there is no I nor two Gs so they really out of their way to spell the word they did.

Here's a shocker for you, times change. Thing that didn't have consequences in the past now have large and far reaching ones. But hey, keep living like the settlers in the cable commercials and see how that works out for you. These girls did.

I think they were they trying to spell GINGER and the photographer snapped the pic before they got in the proper order.

Very true.

The calling for the principal to be fired is absurd.

Also, odd side note. I see and hear white teens using the n-word a lot. Often when talking with black kids and the black kids say it back. Although it's always with an "a" at the end. For some reason, lots of the teens use it as a way of referring to a male or a close friend.

So stupid. I keep re reading this trying to figure out what they were thinking. Like maybe they were intending to take a stand against racism or something. But this is just so stupid.

"We have letters on our shirts, let's spell something offensive!"
To give them the maximum benefit of the doubt, they were friends and noticed what their shirts spelled, thought it was a funny coincidence and instead of sharing a private joke, they took a picture and shared it with the world. Not smart, but teens don't always think things through.
