60 Minutes Steve Kroft confirms lewd affair, also likes pudding (1 Viewer)

Here’s a story you won’t see on “60 Minutes:”

Veteran TV-news correspondent Steve Kroft enjoyed a string of hotel hookups with a sexy New York City lawyer, getting his kink on with the aid of Viagra and racy text messages, according to a new report from the National Enquirer, which hits newsstands Wednesday.

The married CBS newsman — who once famously confronted Bill Clinton over the then-Arkansas governor’s rumored womanizing — convinced Harvard-educated Lisan Goines that he was trapped in a sexless marriage with his wife, author and fellow journalist Jennet Conant, the Enquirer reports.

The pair then launched into a three-year affair — the details of which would never get past the censors on Kroft’s own award-winning show.

In response to the report, Kroft insisted his dalliance had did not reflect on his job.

"This was a personal failure, not a professional one, and had no impact whatsoever on my job as a journalist, he said.
“Working late. Just ordered out. Would rather be eating your pudding,” he allegedly wrote.

“Don’t work too hard this week bc I wanna wear you out afterward,” Goines replied.

I wonder if they ever did it on Andy Rooney's desk

"convinced Harvard-educated Lisan Goines that he was trapped in a sexless marriage with his wife"

This is a nice way for the media to absolve Ms. Goines from any blame here. Couldn't be her fault in any way. Not a Harvard educated woman with a high profile career.

In one sexting session, Kroft allegedly cooed to Goines, “Miss you and all that goes with it. Especially my favorite tastes and colors … pink and brown.”

lol

Is she married as well? If not, I dont blame her for anything.

The wording is noteworthy, though: he "convinced" her. Not, "two really smart people decided this was something they wanted to do."

In a way, it's a compliment to Kroft -- he's so smooth, he convinced a Harvard graduate to have an affair with him.

between Cosby and Kroft, pudding needs a new PR Agency

EDIT : DAMN sacamano beat me to this by three minutes!

Am I the only one that misread the title and thought "pudding" actually said "puddling"?

I thought we were headed for a discussion on golden showers and whether or not it is pee. Because...we all know...there is still much confusion on this topic.

Huh? She isn't to blame in any way for him cheating on his wife. Of course, she is to blame for cheating on her own husband. But she's not famous so the story isn't about her.

It's not to absolve her of anything. The sentence is to make him look like more of a ####bag. It's a more interesting story that way.

This is typical though in these instances. Feminists want to hold women up as strong, moral, and right in almost every instance. It permeates our society, in particular the media.

When you read it as written, it implies he did all the convincing and she was manipulated by this guy. And I think it's pretty clear from what is being reported, she was way into it and didn't need "convincing." Both people made the decision here. No "convincing" necessary.

You are correct though, it makes him look bad and gets more eyeballs.

/at 65 he was banging a 41 year old? Good for him. Kroft always looked like a grizzled boozer and Viagra was his friend.
