6th Pick - 10 Team Standard, 2 flexes (1 Viewer)

I am in a 10 team league with standard scoring, all TDs 6pts. Our rosters are 1 QB, 3 WRs, 2 RBs, 1 TE, 2 WR/RB/TE, K, DEF, Ben x 6.

I have done numerous mock drafts using the draft dominator and other online mock tools using my league's settings.  In the first two rounds I am usually left with a few players that are consistent in rounds 1 & 2. I have three questions...Thanks in advance for the advice!

1) Who do you prefer in the first round at position 6 -  Jones, Beckham, McCoy, and Gordon

2) In round 2, does it matter what position you drafted first or do you truly go BPA? Consistent choices I see: Murray, T.Y., Thomas (occasionally Ajayi)

3) With 2 flex positions in a standard scoring league what would be your ideal make up of the RB/WRs that are starting? Possible 3-5 WRs and 2-4 RBs.

Thanks again for any advice

To answer your specific questions:

  1. I would prefer OBJ, Jones, McCoy, Gordon in that order.  I try and go safest in the first round and I think that is the order for me based on highest floor and least injury risk.
  2. It doesn't matter what position I take in round 2.  I go with whoever I believe is the best player available at that spot.  All these guys will be starters so take the one you think will be the best one.
  3. I don't think there is an ideal makeup.  It depends on how the draft unfolds and what values you find to construct your team.  You have a lot more flexibility the more flex spots you have so it really frees you up to take BPA for the majority of the draft.  You really don't have to start thinking about "i need position X now" because you have so many ways to craft a lineup.

1 and 2 don't matter until you have a general draft strategy.

With 2 Flex you have to assess your league differently. Since it's non-PPR here is a  link to standard scoring points per game from last year. To me (I don't play in non-PPR leagues), I would probably try to start with 4 RBs in a row. On a points per game basis, Jordan Howard scored the same as the best WR (AB). Based on your options you're picking at #5 *Edit: Right in your title it says you're picking 6th but I'm not going to redo the numbers because I'm lazy.* Using a 10 team Standard ADP you can kind of get a general idea of the team you can start.

RB heavy: McCoy 16.6, Howard 13.4, Miller 11.4, Ware 11.5, Adams 10.7, Landry 8.6 = Total of 72.5

WR heavy: Julio 12.6, M. Thomas 10.9, Baldwin 10, DT 8.5, Hyde 12.7, CJA 12.4 = Total of 67.1

***This is not proper scientific testing. More so because I had to fudge the ADP to not look completely out of whack.*** The general point is to find the position/team make up of the optimal line up. You could more accurately decide this if instead of last years points, you use projected points this vs ADP.
