Your honorable mentions are better than your 7. Big fan of Over the James.

"Ten" is pretty terrible. Sorry, guise.
This should have been on my list but I listened to it so many times that I can no longer stand a single track from it. But I would kill to hear it for the first time again. Amazing album.
Well said. Hearing ten for the first time felt important. I fell asleep listening to that record more nights then I fan remember as a sophomore in high school.

I get that. So glad tattoos weren't big when I was younger. I'd have that stupid Jane's Addiction "Nothing's Shocking" album cover across my back or something.

Like I said, it was hard. Over the James was basically neck and neck with all but Pegboy, Moby and Motorhead.

thanksNeeds a little thought. Not something I can do at 12:30am.

Ah, screw it. I'll take a shot without thinking much

Ten, pearl jam- suck it tanner

And out come the wolves, rancid

Check your head, beastie boys

Enter the 36 chambers, Wu tang

40 oz to freedom, sublime

Unknown road, Pennywise

White light white heat white trash, Social D

Could have also chosen AFI, Sick of it alls scratch the surface, Fugazi, AIC or Liz Phair exile in guyville. Heck, I even liked the black album sellout album or not. I liked the nirvana unplugged better than nevermind.

One album that was a really like as opposed to favorite was luscious Jackson. Really liked their sound.

Cracker - Cracker

Supergrass - I Should Coco

Operation Ivy - Operation Ivy

Nirvana - Nevermind

Oasis - What's the Story Morning Glory

Screeching Weasel - My Brain Hurts

Madness - Madstock!

Not sure if Op Ivy and Madness count. Op Ivy was more or less a compilation CD of late 80s songs - but that was the only way to get the songs on CD IIRC. Madstock was a live concert of 80s songs. If I had to replace those two it would probably be with:

Pixies - Trompe Le Monde

Primus - Sailing the Seas of Cheese

Cracker - Cracker

Oasis - What's the Story Morning Glory

Screeching Weasel - My Brain Hurts

No 19th Annual Badger Convention?

No Skunk, Long ### Toes, Swampmoose, Mento Buru, or Smokin' Armadillos either. 2 Lazy 2 Steal probably breaks my top 10 though.

An error occurredYou have reached your quota of positive votes for the day

Mudhoney - Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge

New Bomb Turks - !!Destroy-Oh-Boy!!

Fatboy Slim - You've Come a Long Way, Baby

The Roots - Things Fall Apart

The Queers - Suck This

The Pharcyde - Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde

The Muffs - The Muffs, or Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream.. You decide The Crumbs - The Crumbs s/t Lookout!

eta* Also, I picked these according similarly to Karma Police and John Bender. It's stuff I listened to in the 90's and still do, which really excludes Radiohead, Modest Mouse, Neutral Milk Hotel, and Dillinger Four (who I didn't get into until about 2002 or so). It also excludes Weezer, Superchunk, Rancid, Mr. T Experience, Screeching Weasel, and the Riverdales, as I've played all of those out and can't really listen to them anymore with the same verve I once did.

eta2* The Devil Dogs's Saturday Night Fever and Teengenerate's Get Action! are conspicuously missing from this list, and badly. The Devil Dogs should easily replace one of these.

Best album of all time.

The Muffs - The Muffs
Very nice. Great record. Lucky Guy will forever remind me of a couple of certain wonderful experiences from 1994-ish

Also pleasantly surprised at the love Trompe Le Monde is getting here, as it's widely considered the Pixies weakest album. Maybe that's just saying something about how freakin great the Pixies were.

In the Aeroplane Over the Sea

Ladies and Gentlemen, We Are Floating in Space

Alien Lanes

I Can Hear the Heart Beating As One

Being There

Time Out of Mind

OK Computer

Fight For Your Mind - Ben Harper

Vs. - Pearl Jam

Tigerlily - Natalie Merchant

Jagged Little Pill - Alanis Morissette

I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got - Sinead O'Connor

Achtung Baby - U2

Magnolia - Aimee Mann

Dummy - Portishead

Didn't realize it was such a great decade for female artists.

Leftfield - Leftism

DJ Shadow - Endtroducing...

Dream Theater - Metropolis 2: Scenes from a Memory

My Bloody Valentine - Loveless

Ride - Nowhere

The Dismemberment Plan - Emergency & I

Afghan Whigs -Congregation

Primal Scream - Screamadelica

Teenage Fanclub - Bandwagonesque

Might change slightly if I included stuff I got into after the fact, but this would be more from my brain during the era:

OK Computer

Gish

Badmotorfinger

The Downward Spiral

Frizzle Fry

Rage Against the Machine

Dirt

August and Everything After - Counting Crows

Being There - Wilco

The Globe Sessions - Sheryl Crow

Wildflowers - Tom Petty

March 16-20, 1992 - Uncle Tupelo

Sister Sweetly - Big Head Todd and the Monsters

Monster - REM

Wicked Game-Chris Isaak

Harvest Moon-Neil Young

August & Everything After-Counting Crows

American Recordings-Johnny Cash

Rites of Passage-Indigo Girls

Fashion Nugget-Cake

Live at the BBC-Dire Straits

Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea

Modest Mouse - The Lonesome Crowded West

The Flaming Lips - The Soft Bulletin

Radiohead - OK Computer

U2 - Achtung Baby

Spoon - A Series of Sneaks

Slint - Spiderland

Surprised it took 43 replies to get an August and Everything After mention.
Maybe because a bunch of us can't stand that whiney annoying overrated voice.

That album has some strong material…but boy it got old fast (for me at least).

Going with just one per band...

Radiohead - OK Computer

Porcupine Tree - Stupid Dream (just barely over Signify)

Dream Theater - Awake (just barely over Images & Words)

U2 - Achtung Baby

Queensryche - Promised Land

The Flower Kings - Flower Power

Pink Floyd - The Division Bell

It was brutal leaving off Opeth's Still Life, Rush's Counterparts and DMB's Before These Crowded Streets.
