Wow, I had no idea that Tom McCarthy, the director of Spotlight was the actor from the Wire who played the reporter fabricating stories. I don't think it'll win any big ones but really pulling for Spotlight. If you haven't seen it yet, it's great. Very much worth seeing.

I am usually all about these award shows, but Mad Max up for best picture anything is just silly.

I am usually all about these award shows, but Mad Max up for best picture anything is just silly.

It already has won a bunch of awards including Best Film by the National Board of Review and the AFI among many. I think it highlights an overall pretty bland year for films.

I saw MMFR in 3D and I never see films in 3D but the reviews encouraged it and I had a blast on one of those ETX screens to boot, it was ginormous. The whole movie experience felt 1st class where sometimes I will venture into one of the Marvel movies and feel a little let down or just not as enthused. I was into the Mad Max film the whole way. Did you not care for it?
