8 man league (1 Viewer)

We had our draft, which was supposed to be a 10 man league but last minute 2 teams bailed so we decided to go ahead with it. I know its only 8 team...so all the teams should be stacked, but I'd be curious as to what teams or two you think are the strongest. There are a couple of new drafters who you can tell didn't quite know what they were totally doing.

I'm relatively new to it so I'd like some feedback on what I could do maybe tradewise to improve any weaknesses I have (which once again shouldn't be many in an 8 team league). Also could use advice as to who to start as my QB, #3 WR and as my flex (team 8)

1QB, 2 RB, 3 WR/TE, 1 WR/TE/RB, 1 K, 1 Def

I know its not ground breaking stuff but it is what it is...

I'll be nice for once and answer...

Team 2 looks like he is going to be tough.

I'd say you have the next best team in the league.

How on earth did team 2 put that squad together?

Team 2 looks like a beast. I'd say 8 looks second best, but things change over the course of a season, and there is very little comfort in us telling you that you have great team. The trick is to maintain it throughout the year...

Good Luck..

My bad, didn't realize there was a forum specifically for this.

Like I said, its not a serious league, just some friends and stuff having fun, some of them have never drafted before, some of us are relatively new, and team 2's owner is probably the most experienced.

Thanks for a couple replys, and I'm glad the others enjoyed putting random smiley's down...

Well the 1st thing you shouldve done when it went to an 8 teamer is increase the starting lineups to:

2 qb

3 rb

4 wr

1 te

1 k

1 d

Now thats some Sunday fun

What happened with team 1?

Did they trade out of the #1 draft spot?

My best advice in this league is to make frequent roster moves and play match-ups more than normal. If your team #1 you'll need to get another solid RB.

Btw I did a post similar to yours, but I just asked who everyone thought had a better team. Didn't ask for advice or even say which team was mine. I got banished to the assistant coaches thread within 5 mins and no one replied after that. It's been 2 days now and no replies. Don't bother to move it, it's really not worth it. Just go to another board for specific advice, it's not supported here. They are more focused on guys that know what they are doing and willing to argue. They aren't really interested in spoon feeding a new guy on the boards. Their articles on the other hand are top notch and if you pay any attention are spoon feeding personified.

I'm guessing team 5 also has Antonio Gates? Your team (8) looks strong, possibly strongest to me, in this PPR league.

You have great WRs, but you will still probably play RB for your flex more often than not (even with PPR). You will mostly play matchups at QB, RB3 and WR3.

bos - About Gates.. yeah team 5 has him. and thanks for the advice about playing matchups... that makes sense considering the relative depth and similar numbers for my #3's and QB's

RBM - starting that many players probably would have been more fun, and defiantely do-able. didn't really give it much thought since the league was intended to be 10 teams

chris - those teams aren't in order of how they were drafted... the team with LJ had #1, LT #2, and my team with SA was #3... (wanted to snag R. Brown with #14 and thought he might fall because of the people drafting, but he got taken and I took S. Smith and T. Holt with #14 and 19). And i'm actually suprised i got a few decent responses... i'll take it :lmao:
