8 yrs post 30k legal battle, WI Wallaby guy obtains proper permits to own Zebra... (1 Viewer)

No real good stories to share I'm afraid. My stupid Droid got the black screen of death on Wednesday and I'm waiting for my new one. I don't really have a life or a personality without that stupid phone.

I had some chicks with wallabies pictures queued up too, just for today...

So get this, my boy has "leader day" tomorrow at his pre-k. I asked the principal for the ok to bring it in to show his classmates. Ended up with an emphatic "no" and a lecture about "putting children in danger". I hate this planet. I think me and my wallaby are going to #### it up.Im pissed now that i got talked down to like im the idiot, dude was probably a cat owner or something.
:lmao:I guess I'm going to have to be the only serious one here and say the principal is right. Hell kids can't even bring dogs to school these days. You want to bring in a giant rabbit?
He did site the "no pet" policy. Still, i feel like the kids are missing out in this deal. Sucks what the world has become.
My dad brought one of our Llamas into school when I was in 7th or 8th grade as part of my science project.

So how's it going with your kid? Still digging the wallaby or just playing with the crate you brought Toby home in?

My boy isn't too comfortable when Toby gets "crazy" which is pretty much if any sudden movement or play of any type. His bounces cover so much ground that it is startling sometimes, especially when he gets high enough to throw a big boot to the chest. Despite being 2 approximately 2 feet tall Toby can clear a queen size bed from one side to the other. It would make a big difference if he let Toby sleep with him at night but he really has no interest in that.Probably wasn't the most intelligent thing to purchase for a 4 year old. He does like feeding it chips but Toby just requires a very laid back personality to deal with. Luckily, I don't mind calling him mine.Sorry, still no new pics, stupid Verizon. New phone will hopefully be waiting for me when I leave work.

Please video this. While he's wearing diapers. And put a target up.

I'll try to get one posted before I leave town on Thursday afternoon, running kind of a hectic schedule this week.

This needs to be turned into a movie. Not the Air Bud Disney type but a dark buddy comedy about a boy and his kick ### wallaby best friend fighting bullies on the playground.

:lmao:

I thought this was some kind of insider-schtick/euphemism that would sail past me. I never ever expected this thread to be about an actual pet wallaby.

Wallaby captured in NW Pa.; owner sought

If you're missing a wallaby, the Pennsylvania Game Commission wants to talk to you.

Commission officials say a wallaby _ an animal resembling a small kangaroo _ was captured Wednesday in Crawford County in northwestern Pennsylvania.

Eugene Morton, senior scientist emeritus at the Smithsonian Institution, told the Erie Times-News that he "broke up in laughter" when heard that someone had reported seeing such an animal.

He's more used to seeing birds than marsupials at the Hemlock Hill Biological Research Area in Rockdale Township.

But Morton said he wasn't laughing the next day when he saw the animal himself.

The 25-pound male wallaby was tranquilized near Cambridge Springs and taken to the Pymatuning (peye-muh-TOO'-neeng) Deer Park in Jamestown, where it will remain until the owner is found

From the sounds of it, the wallaby could have gotten there from Wisconsin in about 4 hops.

If you are considering one of these as a pets, my opinion is that they are still great. Just make sure to have a paper trail from the animal's birth to your doorstep. If a certain Federal Regulatory department suspects that the animal immigrated here unlawfully it is an extremely expensive and difficult process to prove otherwise.

Hey Hooter, we need an update here.
I'm going to need some legal stuff to clear up before I can post any more.Sorry. No fishing. No longer wanting any attention in this matter. Wish it wasn't so.
This is kind of the only place I post on the internets. Good chance the situation was reported by someone here. The health and safety of the animal is my primary concern and hopefully that of those that made the report. If they had other intentions, thanks, you are a swell individual I wish you the very best in life. I'm not here to provide entertainment from my negative experiences.

What gives you reason to believe this?

Wouldnt the roadside zoo be responsible for this? All you did was buy a wallaby form someone. Its not like you smuggled him into the U.S. yourself.

Hold up...didn't your kid try to take this thing to show and tell? The whole freaking school knows you have a wallaby. Every kid and half of their parents know. Come on.
