8 yrs post 30k legal battle, WI Wallaby guy obtains proper permits to own Zebra... (2 Viewers)

Maybe less if someone from Missouri hadn't liked writing so many letters to state agencies expressing their concern for public and animal safety.  For awhile they were fighting over which one could fine me the most.  I'm pretty ignorant so the legal fees ended up about triple the sum of the fines.

But the important thing is that the door remains open for any other Wisconsin tax payer to make the same errors in judgment that I did.

America!

Fun fact:

I know more people with scars from zebras, then I've seen actual zebras in my life.

Fun fact 2:

A zebra can take a bite out of your flesh like it's a stick of butter.

Disclaimer:

Don't try this at home, I'm a trained professional with a bachelor's degree in finance.

Permit for interstate travel is going to take all week to process.  My zebra is stuck in North Dakota for a week.

Only good news is that my zebra cowboy hat from Amazon should be getting here about the same time.  That way the little fella will know I'm on the same team.
I think we can all relate to this

I grew up on a farm where we raised, trained, and boarded horses.

When those ####ers bite, you know it. My uncle lost his left thumb to one.

Similar background myself.  We bought, trained, and sold a couple hundred western style quarter and paint horses every year since I've been born...

About 18 years ago we switched primary focus to bucking rodeo bulls.  I'm about as used to being around as many 1 ton animals that can kill you as anyone else around.

I'm well aware that although they look similar, a zebra is about 20x more dangerous to be around then a horse.

I'm still real ignorant and looking forward to it!

Can I come pet your zebra?

:oldunsure:
Oh course bro, we might just have to like "catch it" first.  Apparently we can't put it with the horses because it will like kill them.

The bulls should keep him in his place I would think.

I'm cautiously optimistic I can tame him if he isn't too wild, otherwise my life may turn into some kind zoo employee focused on containment.

Now I'm picturing hooter as the game warden guy from the original Jurassic Park moving his zebra around in those crazy metal raptor cages.

Let the fun begin!

So the zebra I bought on the online auction was for a 1 year old male zebra.

All the health documents are for a 2 year old female zebra.  The truck bringing it back gets there tomorrow.

I really don't care either way, just bring me my zebra.

We're at about $7300 in total expenses so far...
