9ers Defense - they for real or minny just suck that bad? (1 Viewer)

they had a very good defensive effort in week 1 against what was SUPPOSED to be a very dangerous offense.

Could they be that defense that you pick up early in the season and carries your team week in and week out? I know very little about this defense other than Navarro bowman.

Any insight? I'm looking for the KC 2013 defense pickup. Remember that?

maybe? I wouldn't play them at Pitt
Yes definitely not considering them for this week. I'm talking long term for the season. If they are for real, the time to pick them up is now. When I say for real, I mean like houston last year...a matchup proof defense. I picked up houston last year and rode them the entire year even in bad matchups and they always delivered.

The Vikings offensive line is not good right now. While the 49ers defense and team appears to be much better than myself and many others thought they would be, I would want to see how they do against an opponent that could actually stop the run and can block a bit better than the Vikings did.

Peterson is not in synch with Teddy or the offensive line yet either.

Not to take anything away from the 49ers. They played very well. Their blocking on offense was excellent all game. A strong running game always helps the defense out.

They could be great... but the Vikes looked worse. Bridgewater was shooting buckshot out there and Peterson was a decoration in the backfield.

The 9ers offense also presents problems for their defense. When they face a team with a real defense that won't allow them unlimited chances and Hyde to run at will, they will have to deal with Kaep's limitations.

True enough, but that offense looked pretty solid (granted, it was only one game). But your bolded portion above has been true for the last two years.

I thought the defense looked pretty stout--way better than I thought it would.

Vikings looked terrible. We will have a much better read of the FF value of the new 49ers unit after the PIT game.
