I am in a 12 team ppr with the 9th pick. Our scoring is 1pt/rec, 1pt/10 rush/rec, 6pts rush/rec td, 4pt pass td
We start 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1 Flex WR/RB/TE, Def/ST, K
How many have had their drafts and what are people thinking at the 9th spot? I am seriously considering going WR/RB and the going RB/WR in the 3rd-4th. I believe in picking quarterbacks late usless I get great value.
The other thread is for a 10 team league which is very different than a 12 team.
What are your thoughts?
While this thread kind of belongs in the assistant coaches forum I will bite. I went at the 9th pick but my league was not a PPR and it also requires 3 WR's but for the rest they are the same. I pretty much ranked my players in a general list and had no certain plan of taking this position first or that position second. My plan was to take the best available player especially in the first 3 or 4 rounds and then fill needed positions that were not met in the lower rounds. The nice thing is though that often times durring the draft the best available player was the position i needed. My draft went like thisStarters are in bold
Round Player position
1
Matt Forte RB Too many QB happy picks moved him down to me
2
Steven Jackson RB I am very surprised I got him is round 2
3.
Steve Smith WR I think he is a good value at the pick
4.
Kurt Warner QB I wanted a decent passer this year and felt the fall off was pretty substantial after Warner
5.
Antonio Gates TE Was the highest rated player on my list when this round came up
6.
Braylon Edwards WR I was picking position here. There were more valuable players on the board at the time but not at the Wr position
7. Willie Parker RB (backup with different bye week than my starters) Most valuable player on the board
8.
Laveranues ColesWR Picked for position here as I need to start 3 WR's
9. Reggie Bush RB (Best available player at the pick.too bad I cant play him as a WR)
10. Donnie Avery WR (Depth pick)
11.
Eagles DST I am really surprised I got a good defense by waiting this long. The Titans went off the board in round 5
12. Kyle Orton QB (Depth) So So pick. I probably should have taken Garrard but bye week was an issue.
13. Dominik Hixon WR (Depth) I am really expecting this pick to be the steal of the draft
14.
David Akers K great kicker for the very last draft pick of the day.
