Unfortunately her experiences as a youth in Hollywood were not great. When Joss Whedon was all in the news a few years ago, a bunch of Buffy/Angel stuff came out as well. One item that came out apparently was that Whedon was not allowed to be alone in the same room with Trachtenberg. Trachtenberg never specified whether that was because of verbal abuse (which Whedon was mostly in trouble for) or something else.

What’s so amazing about the two of them was how versatile they both were - Hackman was totally believable as a villain, a lawyer, a priest, a cop, a submarine commander, a conspiracy nut and a basketball coach.

I read this too. So many of these Hollywood execs/directors sound like total scum. When you hear about it so often, you can only imagine how much happens that goes un-reported.

My wife told me about this a little while ago and she was totally perplexed how the couple and their dog could be dead and not suspect foul play, and I immediately said CO poisoning. It's pretty much the only option that makes sense.

I am a huge Buffy/Angel/Firefly fan so I have done a lot of reading over the years on this topic.

Of all the harsh complaints about Whedon, it does not appear any one ever said anything about him being sexually inappropriate with any of the females. It appears he was just a complete dickhead to many of the actors and writers he was around, both male and female.

The story goes that Michelle came out of his office balling her eyes out (she was just 14/15 at the time) after he likely said some horrible things about her performances. It was at that point that the rule came into place, as every one tried to protect Michelle on set.

Why the $%#@ is it so hard to be a decent human being for many of these people in Hollywood? Imagine flushing a career as successful as his because you could not treat people with basic kindness and civility.....

Hackman was incredible and he has so many wonderful performances but the one that stands on top for me is Little Bill in Unforgiven. What a truly contemptible. sadistic, cruel character played with such cold venom, he made my skin crawl.
