A brilliant CBS Sportsline stat on Frank Gore.. (1 Viewer)

Da Guru

Fair & Balanced
Gore has only two career rushing touchdowns in the Eastern Time Zone (at Detroit in 2006, at Washington in 2005).

Now that is the stuff I need to know. I am not that smart but I do know SF plays on the west coast, meaning that at least 8 of their games will on Pacific times, none of their division plays on ET, meaning we are up to 12 games a year. Add in the fact that Gore has only been a starter for a little over a year.

Maybe Gore is an ET stud..maybe Detroit and Washington are the only ET games he has ever played in.

:goodposting: Gore has played a total of 4 games in the Eastern Time Zone (including one in the third week of his rookie season where he had only 3 carries).

Why would someone even think to point out a stat like this?

Honestly? Every time I see something like that I think the writer believes this to be a bad matchup or a place where a player will not do well, but doesn't have the sack to just say it. He needs some wierd stat to say 'see, I'm not crazy!'.Personally I don't like Gore this week - you kinda have to start him, given where you drafted him, but I think SF is going to be behind early and Gore will not get the carries he needs to put up good stats.I mean, the guy has been under 100 yards every game (although with 42 yards in recieving vs Seattle, over 100 yds total) and has only 1 TD.The ET has nothing to do with it if he doesn't perform this week. The G-Men are 11th vs the run, so not exactly like he's facing DEN (32nd vs the run according to NFL.com).They do give up 6 TDs on the ground, but I don't know I like Gore to get #7.And all of that seems more relevent to me, tho not half as clever as his little stat.
