A. Kampman stat error (1 Viewer)

Anybody know what the procedure is for the NFL correcting inaccurate gameday stats? KGB was incorrectly credited with a sack and forced fumble late in today's Green Bay-San Diego game - a sack which should have gone to Kampman. (KGB wasn't even near the QB when the sack occurred - it was solo Kampman). Since they wear #'s 94 and 74 respectively, evidently the stat guy got confused.

Curious as to how likely it is that this gets rectified.....it could have a bearing on my matchup this week.

TIA.

KGB definitely forced the fumble. It probably should be a half a sack for each but it was KGB who hit Rivers arm.

Yeah, the replay is inconclusive on who actually caused the fumble, but it looks like KGB did it. Of course, Kampman was already sacking Rivers at the time, literally dragging him down. Is there some NFL rule that whichever defender causes the QB to fumble automatically gets a sack too? It sucks, but this is literally the difference between my team winning or losing this week.

I'm not sure...I know KGB caused the fumble but I definitely agree that he really didn't have much to do with the sack. I'm not sure how the NFL scores a play like that.

I know any time a defender forces a QB fumble behind the LOS they are also credited with a sack. In fact, Kampman got one like that against the Giants. He didn't actually sack Manning, but he caused a fumble so he also got a sack. Not sure how that exactly plays into the play you are describing, though. I guess one could argue that KGB had more to do with the play ending than Kampman. Kampman never really sacked Rivers, he just held onto him. Rivers wasn't "sacked" until KGB knocked the ball out, meaning KGB was responsible for the sack. :( Just a guess.

That was my guess too. Oh well, I'll have to suffer through a 1-2 start to the season. Man, that sucks.

(KFFL) Bob McGinn, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports the Elias Sports Bureau has given Green Bay Packers DL Aaron Kampman 1/2 sacks from the team's Week 3 game.
