Yep, new to me. Saved. I like the Dixie flavor.

Also new. Interest'n.

I liked the 1st one better, but saved this too.

HA! I got ya!

I have heard this one. Great tune.

I don't know if I have any to add here - that may be new to others, but I will think on it.

Thnx, Z.

That Mississippi Mud was new to me until about 6 months ago.

How about this one?

Not sure about this, but thinking that is Ida May Mack, could be wrong.

Remember me telling you that book came with a CD?  Nope, I got it  mixed up with another book, sorry.

New ta me - love the piano.  SAved

The singer has that can mic sound - so common for the ol'time - I like it.

Regarding CD - no prob - with today's online libraries, I bet I can find a good amount of what I need.

I got the book on hold until 1st Monday of May, when I move funds into my monthly budget checking account.

I am gonna order it then.

👍

Ah, also, I can't find my link to the book anymore - I put it somewhere weird by mistake I think.

Can ya give me the title again?

Ima dummie. 🤪

Here ya go.

Now this book is great as an intro to them blues, as good as that phase of it gets. You do want o start here.

But.....there are better books for delving into the depths of them blues, but ya don't start there. After you read that book, if you want to dig deeper we can go there.

Ah...play dem blues mann...

Great opening - maybe my fav song here so far. It does sound familiar tho. I don't know if I have heard this b4 - or another cover - or maybe just another similar song.

Don't matter tho - this is top notch.
Milton Brown the daddy pf western swing, he knew them blues and with a hillbilly twist.....cool.  Bob Wills also gets some majpr props but Brown came first.

Here is Floyd Council the FLOYD in Pink Floyd, how they knew about him...?

Hills blues?

Not sure - but it feels that way to me.

New to me - saved.
More Texas prairie blues being Ernest Tubb was a Texan.

One of the more interesting aspect of this old stuff is that white cats listening to them black blues and the influense it had on them. Way back then they had "race records" which was black artists singing to black consumers. It was pretty much.........you ain't listening to that jiggaboo music are you?  Well some whites were and that's where we got country music from, or....white mans blues.

Anyway.

New to you.

I like to know the story behind the sound.

When Rosie and the Originals recorded  "Angel Baby" Rosie had a bad cold, but they had put all their $$$$$ into that studio time,  if you don't use iit you lose it because somebody else could have used that time. So her vocals on the record are herwith a stopped up nose and a sore throat. A sound she could never duplicate again.

I love that kinda thing.

This was recorded at Sugarland prison in 1933, you have heard the cover but have never heard this.

Don’t Stop by The Encounters (1963)

https://youtu.be/4PvAEQYHdw4

Went #1 in Philly. Didn’t make the charts in NYC cuz the guys in the band didn’t have enough money to pay off the DJ to play it.

My dad was in that band :)

they were together in one form or another until around 6 years ago when my parents moved from NY to CA to be closer to my family and my sister's family. A 50 year run singing doo ***. Not bad.
