A Question for the NY Giants and their fans (1 Viewer)

I understand that Justin Tuck is an outstanding DL and not 100% I understand that Eli has foot problems (that supposedly isn't affecting his play) and Bradshaw as well. Not to mention Jacobs is running like Cinderella although he'd have you believe that he's not. However, I have a question or maybe a couple for that matter and I'd like you to answer from the bottom of your heart(s)...Do you honestly believe that your team can beat the Dallas Cowboys right now? Your team gave up 250 yards rushing and had 4 TO's gift wrapped from Tony Romo (remember the Int that bounced off of Wittens leg?) to win by 2 points. Not to mention the rumor about some of your teammates defacing a brand new Texas Stadium locker room that they so graciously provided. Don't you think the 'Boys will be out for blood and proceed to put the preverbial boot to your teams throat and crush your playoff aspirations?

By the way, Cowboys 35 Giants 17

Yes. As long as that fat troll is walking on the sidelines the local high school team has a chance to beat the cowboys on any given day. Not sure if you remember 2 weeks ago the cowboys winning a barn burner at home against the Skins (equivlent to a high school team) 7-6.

Cowboys fans are always good for a few laughs. This team hasn't won a playoff game since 1996. I remember them punching their tickets for the SB a couple years ago before they got punched in the mouth by the Giants. This thread is just silly.

http://sports.espn.go.com/dallas/nfl/news/...y?id=4711044Eli Manning acknowledged that the autograph on the wall of the visiting locker room at Cowboys Stadium is authentic.

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Bradie James considers the signature a form of taunting, much like Giants running back Brandon Jacobs’ postgame dance on the star at midfield after New York’s 33-31 victory in the grand opening of the $1.2 billion stadium. The autograph was accompanied by the score of the game and “First win in the New Stadium.”

“We won’t forget that,” said James, a defenisve captain who ranted Wednesday about his dislike of the Giants. “It just makes for a more intense game.”

Manning confirmed Thursday that the signature was his, but he said he didn’t intend the autograph as a taunt. He said he just granted the request of a locker room attendant.

“Yeah, it's a pretty common thing,” Manning told reporters at the Giants’ practice facility. “I was asked to sign it, it wasn't like I just went there and signed it. I didn’t have a pen on me or anything. It was all supplied.”

Manning did not seem concerned when told that the Cowboys were using his autograph as motivational fodder.

"Yeah, I kind of heard a few things about it,'' Manning said. "I figure they'll eventually get over it."

Its a common practice for highschoolers, not a professional player.

Uh-Oh :D

The Double Agent: Why Tony Romo Is the Key to a Giants Playoff Run

by Kyle McMorrow Contributor

Written on December 02, 2009

When the season began, Giants fans' only concern was if New York would get the No. 1 seed throughout the playoffs.

As the season progressed, expectations lowered to just winning the NFC East; now Big Blue fans are wondering if the Giants will even make the playoffs at all this year.

Some have given up, while others remain optimistic, but the truth is the season is still within New York's control, and if the Giants are going to make the playoffs, it starts with the Dallas Cowboys.

With only five games left on the year, the Giants will need to win every game or hope that a team ahead of them stumbles to make the postseason; enter Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys.

While the term "choke artist" may not yet apply to the Cowboys, it certainly does to their leader Tony Romo.

Since 2006, Romo has yet to have a quarterback rating of over 80 percent in the month of December and has thrown 19 interceptions. In addition to his poor numbers, Romo has proven to fail in the late weeks of the season—most notably the fumbled hold on a chip shot field goal that lead to the Cowboys' demise in the 2006 NFC wild card game against the Seattle Seahawks.

In 2008 Romo once again came up empty in a must win game against the Philadelphia Eagles. With one of his poorest outings of the season, Romo threw for only 183 yards and accounted for three of the five Dallas turnovers.

When asked after the game how he deals with a tough loss, Romo simply replied, "I wake up tomorrow and I keep living," perhaps signaling a careless attitude.

Eerily enough, Dallas also started hot last year at 8-4 before finishing 1-3 in the month of December to miss the playoffs.

In addition to his decline in production, Romo has also been sacked more times in December than any other month since 2006, including an astounding 12 sacks last year, a higher total than all other months combined for his 2008 season. That's another indication he is just not comfortable in the month the NFL season now enters.

Romo is now 5-8 in December starts, and with New York, San Diego, and New Orleans on tap, Dallas is going to have a hard time maintaining its division lead with a quarterback who has cracked under less stressful times. Without the Terrell Owens safety blame to fall back on, Romo will have to face the music this time around if he is unsuccessful in leading the Cowboys to the promised land.

If his struggles aren't enough cause for concern, Romo is also suffering from a sore back, and if the Giants can get some pressure, things can get scary in a hurry for Dallas fans.

It's no secret the Giants will need all the help they can get if they want to have any chance of making the playoffs this year. With Romo's track record, Giants fans have to like their chances of New York taking a wild card spot away from the Cowboys, or possibly stealing the division.

The Boys may win this week.... but you can't take away week 2 as badly as you want to.

Honestly, these are the kind of threads that just scream backfire, so much so that I am considering placing a bet on Giants moneyline just because this thread exists.

huh? Have you followed Eli either before his NFL career or throughout it? What a misinformed statement - unless its more of that ridiculous "oh he asked for a trade and didn't want to play in SD" line, which is pretty old. And even if there is legitimacy in that arguement, the way Eli has handled himself throughout his career is FAR from 'spoiled brat' - really kinda undermines whatever else you have to say here to be honest.

To the question at hand - a rather arrogant post from a fan of a team that has not won a playoff game - as noted - this millenia. That said, either team can win. Boy's are the more talented team at this point - they would be close to even imo if the Giants have not so underpeformed, but at this point of the season, you are what you are and the Giants are a team that can beat bad teams, will usually lose to good teams although they have the talent, ability and a QB who could win any given week.

If it were not for the Boys' history of choking, Id say they are big time favs, but it is hard to ignore their history as well. Its not a toss up, as you have to lean toward the Cowboys here, but acting like the Giants cant win this game - or the Cowboys can't find a way to lose - is a bit off target.

Only a Cowboys fan thinks a regular season win over a reeling Giants team erases over a decade's worth of post season ineptitude.Good luck with that.

Lets see, the Giants pretty much suck. Their offensive line is horrible right now. Their front 7 cant get consistent pressure. Their DBs are like a JV squad. Jacobs has fallen off a cliff. Eli cant carry a team on his back. The kicker cant do his freakin job. Yet, yes, the Giants could win. Its an NFC East game, Romo is at QB, Flozell is at tackle, Wade is on the sidelines, and the Cowboys pretty much suck too.

Whether you're a Giants fan or a Cowboys fan, don't be ignorant enough to lump an entire population under one sub category.

I see posts like LOL at Cowboys fans or LOL at Giants fans, like the 3 million fans that root for each team are all exactly the same way and think the same things.

If you see someone post something you don't like, you think is wrong or have a beef against, talk to THEM about it. Don't bring in 2 million other people because all you can think of is " LOL Cowboy fans" because quite frankly it's pretty week.

I said it the week Philly lost to Oakland, the NFC East is overrated. It is competitive, but it is definately overrated. The Giants are playing miserably but their backs are up against the wall and will put everything into this game. The Cowboys know they haven't played well in December and will do everything they can do to put an end to hearing it all the time.

I think the Cowboys are the better team slightly. If Romo plays how he has since the Denver game, which is protecting the ball, the Cowboys should beat NY. If Romo plays loose and gives the Giants life, the Giants are good enough to beat the Cowboys again in NY.

Eli will have to play a big game for them to win as NY will NOT run the ball versus Dallas. Eli claims he's not that hurt, that'll have to be the truth because Brandon Jacobs and Co. is not going anywhere on the ground.

Dallas at N.Y. Giants, 4:15 p.m. ET

The line: Cowboys by 2½

The story: I love this matchup, and it has nothing to do with the rivalry, the histories of the two teams or the impact this game has on the NFC East. Nope, this has more to do with which club is more in need of a tourniquet.

The Cowboys are on top of the division, so no problem there, right? Not so fast. It's December, and one thing we know about the Cowboys in December is that Big D does not stand for the last month of the year; it stands for Danger, Disaster and Defeat. They're positively awful down the stretch, with Tony Romo 5-10 in December and January.

That is a concern. But the Giants have bigger, much bigger, issues -- they are not proficient in any phase of the game right now. The quarterback is hurt. The running backs are hurt. The offensive line is little more than ordinary. The most reliable receiver is a tight end. The defense stinks -- with the line unable to reach the quarterback, the linebackers slow and defensive backs caught out of position. And the defensive coordinator is under siege.

No wonder they lost have five of their past six. Big Blue is Big P.U. I'm sorry, but I don't care how inept Dallas is in December. I don't see how the Giants summon the strength to fight back now. A month ago they lost to San Diego in a showdown coach Tom Coughlin termed "a one-game season," which meant they lost their season. I know I'm taking things a little too literally, but that seems to be how this is shaking out. With that defeat, the Giants realized what they are -- and what they are is not very good.

So they beat Atlanta two weeks ago. They blew a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter ... at home, no less -- and had to win in OT. That told me they can't trust their defense. The Denver game told me they can't trust anyone. So they're in a must-win position. Big deal. We saw what that did for them against San Diego. Nothing. I think we're looking at an encore performance.

Something to consider: The Giants' Justin Tuck had 2½ sacks the last time these two met here, and the Giants have 11 consecutive victories when he has at least one sack.

The only reason the NFC East is overrated is because everyone pegged them as the top division in all of football. Yes they have struggled (redskins im pointing to you) but they are still the BEST division in the NFC and with the exception of the AFC South are the second best division in all of football although I would concede that you could make a convincing arguement for the AFC North for second best.

Neither team has a realistic chance to do anything if they are lucky enough to make the playoffs. I hope they tie.

Then perhaps you don't realize exactly how long it's been since the Cowboys won a playoff game.Edit to add: It's currently at 4725 days or 12 years, 11 months, 7 days and counting...

Love my Cowboys, and I think they'll win, but you just don't do this. Every team has boatloads of these guys, don't pay him any attention.

What do you mean every team has boatloads of these guys?? I'm telling everyone what my prediction of the game will be and give specific reasons why and thats wrong? Get out of here....whats wrong isn't fans who aren't afraid to cheer for their team out loud and give their opinion but those who hide in the dark and then come out once they see the sun is shining. Please don't get all superstitious and be afraid to speak your mind for fear of the wrath of the football gods...your a grown man so have faith in your team dude. And due to the weather conditions currently I change my prediction...Dallas 24 Giants 7 :scared:

As a Colts fan I don't care, but when was the last time Tony Romo won a playoff game? Oh, that's right, he's NEVER won a playoff game. So it doesn't really matter if the Cowgirls make it to the dance or not.

Don't you think the 'Boys will be out for blood and proceed to put the preverbial boot to your teams throat and crush your playoff aspirations?By the way, Cowboys 35 Giants 17 :moneybag:
"Not to mention the rumor about some of your teammates defacing a brand new Texas Stadium locker room that they so graciously provided."Overheard in Week 2:Justin: Jeez, this is a nice stadium!Osi: Whoa, check this out! A room where we can hang out before the game!Brandon: It's a whole locker room for the visiting team, graciously provided by Jerry Jones!Eli: That guy is gracious as heck! We can hang our stuff up in here and everything!Madison Hedgecock: Dudes! Look! In here! Bathrooms, too! And sinks!Eli: Man! We're riding in style this week!

I don't play for the Giants and I'm not a fan. Certainly not a fan of Eli who I perceive as a spoiled brat. But the NFL can be unpredictable and it is December. Isn't that when the 'Boys usually fold like a cheap suit?

Don't count your "proverbial" chickens.
OK,

Kinda like the knock on Manning for a while....Romo's in his 3rd year.

It took (Peyton) Manning 6 years before he won a playoff game.Romo took over the reigns in Week Seven (6th game) in 2006, making this his 4th year.

It's a poor workman that blames his tools.
I know buddy...it's just frustrating sometimes to get lumped in with these guys. This is how our fan base gets a bad rep. We actually have some VERY knowledgable fans, but it's always the idiots that get remembered. It's all good, as Parcells says: It is what it is.
