A "Who's Who" of informed "Sharks" Who should (1 Viewer)

Who are the sharks you will listen to on these boards without hesitation? Most on here profess to have definitive knowledge of FF in general, a particular team, or player, etc. Who are your FF Go-to guys on this board?

A few of mine:

Godsbrother for Steelers info.

SSOG for Broncos info.

Raider Nation for Raiders info.

Who for you?

Updated list in post #92

:goodposting: I love what Rudnicki brings to these boards about the Bills.

I take Chaos Commish and Who Dat's player assessments as gospel. Wannabee is one of the best all around fantasy football minds on these boards.

There are a ton of guys here who are really insightful. It is important to remember that the most insightful people are sometimes very wrong. I like following people who learn from there mistakes. EBF, one of my favorite posters, is off base his share of the time, but he is constantly evaluating his choices.

These are some guys who I often disagree with but always pay attention (and strongly consider their ideas re: FF) in no particular order:

Joseph

SSOG

BFred

Yudkin

Maurile

Shick!

Dodds

Drinen

Football Jones (he is goofy though)

V1LL (good eye for talent)

Construx Boy

Switz

offdee

Holy Schneikes (frequent contrarian view)

Boston

NE revival (who had his name when Bledsoe was still the starter and said that YAC would improve with Brady before Brady started a game)

BassNBrew- great strategist

Bloom

Chaos Commish- very very strong prospect analysis

diesel- the man may make you mad, but he knows what is going on

ILUVBEER- funny and great dynasty outlook

I am sure I am forgetting quite a few.

I notice LHUCKS has had no mention yet. He may have a little too high an opinion of himself, but he should be given his due as someone who has an informed opinion on football. There are many who post here with opinions, but IMO few who actually keep up with what is going on and think through the ramifications as well as LHUCKS does.

He's footballguys forum version of TO..... a magnet for controversy...... I agree that he should get his due for having an informed opinion.

There are a ton of valuable posters here. I rarely check the name on the left and usually just scroll down and read the text. The content is what makes the post, not the poster. But I know I'm in the minority here. I just think we've got a tremendous amount of knowledgeable posters.

Feel free to continue this though.

:goodposting: He is one of the best. Sigmund your right up there with him.Let's see...

Wheelhouse

Jason Woods

There are many that I just simply like their passion...Jurb, SSog, Chris Smith, MT, there's a lot...

Some of these have already been mentioned:

BostonFred

GregR

Keys Myaths

LHUCKS

Ridgelake

BassNBrew

All take a well thought out approach to risk/reward analysis and provide rational strategic approaches.

Edit for typos

Can't agree with you here. The first thing I look at is the source of the post. Though it would be in bad taste to have an equivalent thread listing least informed posters, when I see certain names I scroll right past their posts. Why? Because after enough reading of their posts I have learned that they are poorly informed and they fire from the hip with little or no information backing them up. Call it a prejudice if you wish, but it is one based on experience with that poster. Chances are I'll gain nothing useful reading the post at hand, or will at best be skeptical of his actual knowledge concerning what he's posting about. I'd rather just continue on to someone I trust more.

:goodposting: I'll add/second Da Guru for Lions info. Chaos Commish has some stout work on here as well. I respect anyone who gives an informed opinion - sure, sometimes they're wrong, but a lot of times they're pretty close to spot-on. But it's better than saying "I like Chad Johnson because my next door neighbor's chihuahua is named Chad."

GRIDIRON ASSASIN - Bears

JAA - Eagles

Grid is not the person to listen to for UNBIASED opinions on the bears. The guy listens to too much sports radio and has his mind confused from MJH in the afternoons.

There are a lot of good bears posters, cant single one out, but grid is not the guy to listen to.

Lhucks thinks very highly of himself, but knows what he is talking about. I ignore the self promoting and just listen to the info. he puts out.

There are a lot of good posters here. Just read all the info and take it for what it is worth.

Oh i forgot. If you need any advice on QBs, pm joe Bryant.

:sarcasm:

Ok i am done.

First & foremost, David & Joe. Without a doubt.

In no particular order:

Bloom

GB

EG72

(gotta promote my Steelers brethen)

Aaron

Maurile

Jason

Clayton

These are posters who do their homework. There are more, but these come to mind off the top of my head.

However, there a good number of players that do not post alot but are very good players. What makes them good? They win constantly.

When they show up & post seriously, you had better pay attention.

:goodposting:There are a LOT of people who just lurk, but when they post, it's a knockout.I appreciate them the most.I don't like actually making lists, though...because I think 99% of you have good points a lot of the time, and then I disagree with 99% of you at least some of the time. That's why I'm here. I think it makes everyone better when you do.

I find myself continually amazed, not just by Chase's NYJ info, but by his comprehensive knowledge of the AFC East in its entirety. If I find myself with a question about the Patriots salary cap situation in 2001, or some minor facet of Buffalo's defensive onslaught in 2004, or a question about Miami's backup QB situation in 2000, more often than not it's Chase that has the answer- and it's not just recent history, either. That man is a true AFC East scholar. And it's not just because of his nifty database, either- he always seems to have anecdotes or actual memories to share about pretty much anything and everything. I only hope that I can one day be viewed as half as big of a fan and scholar of the AFC West as Chase is of the AFC East.Other than a few heavy hitters, I can't think of any names off the top of my head (I'm not good with names). I do become quite familiar with avatars, however. Rest assured- if you're consistantly making quality posts, people will absolutely take notice and remember. :)

:goodposting: I usually read the post content first and then see who wrote it. A lot of times it's someone in the circle of guys I find I can trust. Most of those names have been listed already. It also works the opposite way...sometimes I'll read something and go "who the heck wrote that craziness...OHHH it was him. Figures."

There are many posters on here that I enjoy and respect. Lhucks and Wheelhouse come to mind, but there are a lot of insightful posters on these boards.

P.S. If it's Bassnbrew Carolina info, it's gospel!

Who broke the news about Priest last year a week or two before it became public? I think he new someone inside the organization.
Syx I believe.
Yeah, and if I recall correctly, it wasn't someone inside the organization, but his daughter had some medical connection to his exam following the Merriman hit. I could be wrong, but that's how I remember it.
Daughter or friends daughet worked for Holmes agent I believe...

MT on any subject, but especially the Chargers. He singled handedly changed my Rivers opinion. The data and stats he brings to back up an opinion may only be second to Drinen.

Shick! for all things related to the Seahawks. If you listened to Shick this year you didn't burn a pick on Beurlson and you've started QBs in Seattle despite the weather forecast.

Lhucks in the pre-season is among the best and he bats for average.

Bfred for draft strategy.

Cappy on the Bucs when he actually shows up.

MOP for his betting analysis

There are a ton of posters who are well rounded and give great opinions on a wide range of subjects (Keys for example), but are hard to peg to a particular area of expertise.

I appreciate the kind words. There are so many I respect and read everything they write. I know I will leave out some, so apologies in advance:

Bloom - the depth and breadth of his knowledge is astounding. I love "talking football" with Bloom.

MoP - I appreciate the time it takes to put out such thought-filled posts. Those must take a long time

Chitown Mole - I read everything he writes on the Texans ... and coolnerd is informed, also.

Radballs - Rad's thoughts are usually counter to mine so I appreciate hearing thoughts different to mine. Also a huge Raiders homer

Patoons - Jets homer and knowledge fantasy guy, esp for being from BC

Pasquino - I like Jeff's take on the Eagles and the depth he looks at things

Couch Potato - knows his stuff, especially when you figure out when he is being (trying to be) funny

Winson Wolfe (Ken Maxwell) - very knowledge about all aspects of fantasy football

Chaos Commish - knows recruits very well. He and Bloom are the only resource for many

Jason Wood - very knowledgeable fantasy guy, with strong analysis of the Eagles and the NY teams

WhoDat - strong player analysis. WhoDat knows much more than he shares on this board

Maurile and David Y - strong statistical analysis. I stink at that stuff and rely on these two and the next guy a ton. I probably take their analysis at face value and believe it more than most do.

Doug Drinen - What can I say? Many of us rely on his stats, with conclusions, on topics we only wonder about and do not know how to find the answer.

Bri and Jeter23 - always have up-to-date news

Aaron R - I like hearing the Bills info/analysis

NittanyLion - good info on the 'skins

Jene - injury explanation

There are so many more that offer specific info that I omitted. The Shark Pool is such a GREAT place for the sharing of ideas and theories, as well as specific team-related news. I apologize for eomitting some.

ETA: thank you to those above for the kind words.

It all comes down to member number. 3-digiters will never steer you wrong, low 4-digiters are OK... you might as well put all 5-digiters on ingore now. :hophead:
