Aaron Maybin learns drawbacks of Twitter (1 Viewer)

He's taking his ball and running home crying.

Apparently Bills fans were giving him a hard time for still not getting a contract done. I guess that hurt his feelings and now he's not logging into Twitter until his contract is done.

And then Donte Whitner posted on Twitter telling people to leave Maybin alone.

I have an easy solution for Maybin: stop waiting to see what Crabtree gets, get a deal done and get your butt into camp while you can still contribute in 2009!

Amazing. I can understand not liking it when people criticize you on your Twitter page, but he's going to have to have thicker skin than that if he wants to be an NFL player.

Grove, think "we'll" have another year like the Peerless Price breakout year in 2002 when the offense actually was able to move the ball and put up points, at least early in the season, but the defense was bad, ending in another middle of the road 8-8 finish? I was just thinking about that the other day. The Bills just can't get their whole team on the same page at the same time (i.e. playing good in every facet of the game).

I fully expect the offense to move the ball well. Whether or not they can convert in the red zone will be the big question. If the defense can't mount a pass rush again this season, they're in a lot of trouble though. They just don't have the type of DBs that can shut down a passing game on their own. It's why I'm so irritated that Maybin still isn't signed. At this point, he most likely won't be any type of impact player this year. And they badly needed him to give at least a situational impact rusher. What a waste. He'll end up making $5-6M for the season and mostly stand around on the sidelines.

with Orakpo and Moreno signed, Maybin's contract should be relatively easy to slot in.

that being said, I wasn't expecting much from Maybin this year anyway. He can probably still contribute as a pass rush specialist if he reports late. He won't be seeing regular playing time until he bulks up though.

Maybin is one of six first-round draft picks who remain unsigned in the NFL. Maybin was the 11th overall pick. The other unsigned picks were taken sixth, eighth, ninth, 10th and 14th.

Moreno got a good pay increase over the No.13 pick, Washington Redskins defensive end Brian Orakpo, who signed for $20 million with $12 million guaranteed. Last year's 11th pick, Bills cornerback Leodis McKelvin, signed for $19.4 million and $12.6 million guaranteed.

I wish that was the case. I remember reading somewhere earlier that Maybin's agent almost always waits until the pickimmediately before and after get signed before getting a deal done. That way he'll never have a deal that looks bad. I have a sick feeling that since Crabtree wants a huge deal, Maybin's agent doesn't want to wait and see what he gets to try to capitalize off of anything Crabtree gets.
