Does anybody have any info or Rodgers this weekend. I don't even care if it's true, just want to feel better. Seriously, any help would be appreciated.
I've already offered him money to stay out of Packer threads, please don't encourage him for the sake of Packer fans everywhere.Sho nuff should have all the information, he knows everything Packers!

It was well documented that he didn't practice yesterday (handed off a couple times) and then did rehab work, more rehab work today (no throwing footballs either day). Soreness today. Yesterday, I read he was throwing "tennis balls and other small objects" testing it out. Also read that one of Rodgers mentors, Trent Dilfer, said he (Dilfer) had something like 14 sprains over the years and never missed a start. So again, I'd agree with the poster who said it is more a matter of pain tolerance than further damage. That said, I would not be surprised if he didn't practice tomorrow, and still play. So you ask the question, how effective can Rodgers be playing without taking reps? I think he'll be hurting, and wouldn't expect big numbers, but could grind out a very average game. Keep in mind too, that the GB staff said that they would not alter the game plan, even if Flynn was the starter, though they may have a more thorough game plan that they have to scale back if Flynn is indeed the starter. So I'd guess that simply because of that, even if Rodgers plays, I wouldn't expect a whole lot, maybe 150 pass, 1 TD, 20 rush. Practices were in pads this week, and players that usually sit out (Clifton) were in pads getting harped on about "pad level". I fully expect the O-line to play with a chip on their shoulders after being ragged on all week about ineffective blocking in the running game. IMO, Grant is the money play this week. But it plays into my hypothesis that Flynn or Rodgers, game plan will be more running, game control (keep the run game in check from ATL), grind out a win.Does anybody have any info or Rodgers this weekend. You're a pretty bitter dude aren't you Chaz?Sho nuff should have all the information, he knows everything Packers!
Now I have two stalkers...one that messages me...You two are so cute together though...lol.Keep it up...I've already offered him money to stay out of Packer threads, please don't encourage him for the sake of Packer fans everywhere.Sho nuff should have all the information, he knows everything Packers!
Seems the other two are too. Some people just don't like hearing opposing viewpoints that use facts to back them up.As for Rodgers...since those 3 did not want to bring anything to the table.Nobody will know much until today...and even then, barring some good throwing by Rodgers, I doubt McCarthy even tips his hand and it will probably be the dreaded game time decision.I would expect the RBs to all get alot of work this weekend. If no Rodgers...you may have to hope they break through a stacked front for a long run though.scrumptrulescent said:You're a pretty bitter dude aren't you Chaz?Sho nuff should have all the information, he knows everything Packers!
I have not heard anything on Grant having any setbacks nor read him really missing any time for practice.I don't think it will be luck if they win. They do have some talent on that team even with the injuries. Is Grant even healthy?Packers will have to be extremely lucky to win this week.OTOH, I may have to start Flynn in a 2 QB league.
Those are some really tasty, thought provoking nuggets.Seems the other two are too. Some people just don't like hearing opposing viewpoints that use facts to back them up.scrumptrulescent said:You're a pretty bitter dude aren't you Chaz?Sho nuff should have all the information, he knows everything Packers!

Coach Mike McCarthy said today that quarterback Aaron Rodgers, after throwing lightly today, will be given the full 48 hours to get ready for Sunday's game against the Atlanta and will be a game-time decision.
Though, the quote you brought was about Thursday's practice report.I hate to do it, but I think I'm going to sit him this week.

FROM TOM PELISSERO OF THE GREEN BAY PRESS GAZETTE… Rodgers sits out Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who has a sprained right shoulder, sat out all of practice as coaches focused on getting rookie Matt Flynn prepared in case Rodgers can’t start Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons. Rodgers watched the jog-through portion of practice in shorts and a sweatshirt, then continued his rehabilitation work out of sight. He didn’t try any throwing exercises, coach Mike McCarthy said, adding that Rodgers was “a little sore” from his Wednesday workout. Like the rest of the Packers’ injured players, Rodgers will be re-examined this morning, and it’s unclear how much he’ll practice, if at all. “I wanted to make sure that (Thursday) Matt felt very comfortable, and actually practiced very well,” McCarthy said. “He did a nice job in the 2-minute (drill); he scored down there with a couple seconds left. … He had a nice practice. “That was the focus, and we’ll see where Aaron is (today). But once again, even after (today)’s practice, you still have another 48 hours before kickoff, so we do have some time.” Third-stringer Brian Brohm also got “some limited reps” with the starters, McCarthy said.
This has to be a very disconcerting time for the Packers, as they face the prospect of having to play without their starting quarterback. It would not surprise me if Rodgers played in this game at some point. But one hit or landing on this shoulder might knock him out for a longer period of time. We first heard from someone close to Rodgers that the primary factor that would determine if he plays is his ability to deal with pain. Now, though, we are also hearing that his arm does not seem to be very strong. So, pain and strength seem to be the two most troublesome aspects of his shoulder. It goes without saying that these are not the kind of symptoms that make playing quarterback in the NFL easy. I don’t really care how well Flynn looks in practice. Practice in October is always scripted for success and I am sure the Rams ( ) have had good practices this week. But when he faces the speed of the game and the necessity of making quick decisions, Matt Flynn will struggle like all first-year quarterbacks always do. If were the Packers, I would be thinking long-term with Aaron Rodgers and sit him to ensure he is healthy enough to handle a hit.
Yeah, but it's the lack of strength and fear of him not finishing the game even if he starts that have me worried.Though, the quote you brought was about Thursday's practice report.I hate to do it, but I think I'm going to sit him this week.

Bedard was saying 10 snaps...but...nothing big there...Yes, Rodgers threw 5 soft passes in 8 jog-through snaps, then went inside the Hutson Center to throw some more away from the media.*update*
Rodgers took about 10 snaps, threw a few short passes -- none more than 15 yards -- with a nice, tight spiral. He threw fine.
Oh boy..."Matt Flynn will be the starter"
That's my dilemma tooSitting him too. For Trent Edwards.

My other option is PalmerAt this point if you have another reasonably viable option I'd sit Rodgers regardless of what happens before game time tomorrow. There's a good chance he starts and is ineffective, or worse yet, starts and gets hit early and leaves the game. I wouldn't be willing to take that risk. Now, if your only other option is, say Joe Flacco or Damon Huard, that's another story... if you feel you need big points from your QB, you may have to roll the dice.
