Adalius Thomas not tagged by Ravens (1 Viewer)

Given the Ravens' cap situation, it's very unlikely that he'll return to Baltimore or he'd already have signed. Jets, Niners, and Browns rumored to have big interest. None of them are close to the fit that the Ravens were for IDP value. There have also been rumblings that Green Bay could be interested; Thomas is a better fit there as a LB or DE but I think it's unlikely that Thomas lands with the Packers.

Those in standard scoring leagues may want to try to move Thomas before free agency begins next weekend. It's highly unlikely that Thomas can approach 70 solo tackles in a 3-4 scheme at OLB. Thomas may have some increased value in big play leagues in a 3-4 scheme, but it's hard to see him better his recent 70 tackle, double digit sack performances of the past two seasons.

The Baltimore media has speculated that Bart Scott would move to the more all-around backer role, which could drop his sack numbers and increase his coverage stats. Jarret Johnson is expected to take over for Thomas. He'll be worth a look in big play leagues but won't be able to post anywhere near the statlines that Thomas did.

I think the Browns have too many LB's as it is. What about NE or Dal? I think both could use another edge rushing OLB.Also, I know he is a 3-4 LB, but what do you think about him playing in a 4-3?

Yep, the NY media is talking about the Jets going after him, and it makes sense. They could release Barton and save his 3.5 mil, move Hobson inside and use Thomas on the outside. Bookend Thomas'. Almost makes to much sense. That would fix the pass rush immediately.

I did not doubt him this year when others did and he came through. Granted, the context has changed. But I'll stick with Thomas til he shows otherwise.

Plus, my LBs suck.

That would really increase Hobson's value....

He might be moved to DE on certain teams which scares me
The Packers are one of those teams. Rumors have been out there that GM Ted Thompson is going to go after Thomas hard in free-agency. If the Pack sign him he'd play DE across from Aaron Kampman.

Giants wanted Briggs so I'd imagine you can throw their teamname into this pool as well.

Pats fans seem to want Adalius including writers. There's been several articles but not much talk from the team, as usual.

I sure hope the Pats do try to get him. Pats LBers are old and if Seau comes back they're even older.

Colvin is good but I expected better when they signed him years ago. At the time, the Pats gave him a good amount of $ so it wasn't a spending issue.

I was afraid of losing Samuel. Tagging Samuel, Rodney's return, adding Adalius would seem like adding 3 very good players to me. It would really get me excited. If(when) Bruschi retires, they're going to need a leader too. To play behind that DL, be a leader on a contender, vital cog in BBs defense ....hopefully this will attract Adalius.

I'm not sure how committed the Niners are to spending a lot of cash this offseason, but if York opens the checkbook, I think Thomas is the guy that they throw a lot of money at.
