Adam "Pacman" Jones Feeling Scrutiny In Tennessee (1 Viewer)

While I still think his skills are much better suited to the defense we run than either Rolle or Rogers, man...I had no idea he was such a headcase.

He're hoping Keith Bulluck gets a hold of him and straightens him out.

Just a string of bad luck for such an outstanding youngman. These kind of things could happen to anyone on any given day. ;)

One of my favorite sayings:"Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they really aren't out to get you."

By the way, that part about getting a car for his criminal buddy "aspiring rap singer" to use in his rap video... wasn't that an OG Loc mission in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas?

Thanks Rad.

The Tennessean paper has a little more. This doesn't excuse anything but I still feel bad for the guy:

"I have no father figure. I have no one. It is just me, man,'' said Jones, whose father was killed when he was just a child. "All those other guys, when they get in stuff, they have people they can go to and all that.

"In my situation, I have been the father figure of my whole family since I have been 17 years old. I never had a dad I could go to, to sit down with and talk to and explain what I am going though and all that.

"I am not making no excuses because I have made it this far; I'll be all right. I really don't give a (expletive) about what a lot of people say and that is really what my attitude is right now. I am just trying to be a role model for the people that love me. I can't worry about what the media and other people are saying because if I do that I definitely won't be mentally strong. ... But it seems like everyone wants me to snap.''

Anyone want to take a guess what % of the players in the NFL that applies to? 50+%?

He couldn't talk to Steve McNair? Keith Bulluck? Brad Hopkins? Any other NFL player?

I know you're a sympathetic guy, Joe, but why would you feel bad for this turd? There are more than a few people who have lost their father, yet they don't grow up to be incorrigible punks like this kid. He has the opportunity to break the cycle & get himself & his family to a better place with what he can earn playing professional football, yet all he does is screw that up, too. Then he has the balls to say he's acting as a father figure & a role model? A role model for whom? A future serial killer? This guy has life by the short hairs right now. He can change his destiny completely. Yet all he is doing is pissing it away with childish & sometimes criminal behavior. A man takes control of his own life. All this guy does is whatever gratifies him at any given moment & then make excuses or drops f-bombs when he gets called on it.This guy has more "career criminal" written on him than he does "NFL player", or "grown up", for that matter. I just can't see it your way. No way. A guy like this playing the hard-knocks sympathy card is absurd.

He's lucky to have had a father for the first 17 years of his life. Pacman is a #####.

Dude is a punk...no doubt....some of the stuff is just absurd though.

Sure he was out late...but he was not involved in the gun story.

Part of his problem...and it is his problem...he has trust issues with people...the only people he trusts are his boys...problem is, his boys are letting him down lately as well (guy who borrowed his car, guys in the club incident, the gun at the gas station).

His latest crap though is he needs to be here in the off-season program. Its not just lifting weights...it is showing your teammates you are ready to be there with them working hard.

Guy has alot of talent, I hope someone can get through to him.

The kid just needs to mature a little bit and make better decisions, as do most kids that grow up in broken homes.

Personally, I think he's going to be a great NFL player for a long time.

I had a feeling things were off with this guy when on draft day Easy E shoved his Mom out of the way so he could get his grill on ESPN. After laughing my ### off, my 1st thought was this was a bad pick...

I'd guess it's way lower than that. I don't equate "athlete" with "fatherless".

You mean he only feels "smothered" in Tennessee?

Wimp! Go spend some time at your nearest Waffle House so you can get some experience in getting "scattered, covered, chopped & diced".

:D

why they took this joker over A. Rolle in 05 still boggles my mind.
Because Rolle is better suited to a zone coverage scheme and the Titans mainly play man-to-man?Jones has the right skills...hes just way more immature than anyone thought.
And they needed someone who could also perform on special teams.
He arguably should have been the AFCs KR/PR in the Pro Bowl. While Mathis was a slightly better KR, Jones was also a top PR, whereas Mathis didnt return punts.

PacMan is downright explosive returning the rock...kid's a gamer.

When he can catch it at least. I think he dropped the first 5 or 6 kickoffs he fielded in the preseason. It was comical.
