49 states

But Trump……
The 49 states means nothing.  The GOP in every state, I’m guessing except for Hawaii, introduced legislation to put additional restrictions on voting.  Of course people can still vote.  They need to get off their ### and jump through the new hoops that are being set up.

Why? Because of a lie.  That election integrity was compromised in America.  There is zero evidence for that.

So yeah, because Trump.

They've yet to show any proof that it's preventing people from voting. Instead they just go by feelings.

" I feel like it suppresses people from voting so therefore it must."
Try using your words in response this time.

Fact: There is zero evidence that election fraud is an issue in American elections.  Zero.

These new laws, WHICH DON’T PREVENT PEOPLE FROM VOTING, are not necessary because of election integrity concerns.  So why implement them?  To discourage people from voting by making it incrementally harder for them to do so.

This couldn’t be more obvious.  High voter turnout is a loser for the GOP.

You seriously don’t get this?

Cool, if it's not a problem then you should have no worry when these laws go into effect.

So, win-win!

Adam Schiff @AdamSchiff 46m

49 states have introduced new voter suppression laws.

More than 400 bills in total. And at least 30 of these Jim Crow provisions have become law in 18 states.

All based on a big lie about the last election.

And bigotry.

Welcome to Trump’s GOP: the party of lies and hate.

So he is saying even the states controlled by dems are pushing voter suppression laws?  I guess the dems are guilty of Jim crow laws and voter suppression too then.

No, he is saying that in 49 states, Republicans have introduced voter suppression laws, irrespective of who controls the state.

Bottom line it’s subjective according to Schiff so it’s worthless.  He has limited credibility and a partisan hack.  Why would you believe anything from him?  It’s like me linking a trump twitter feed if it was active.

Any member of a state legislature, GOP or Dem, can bring forward a bill.  I bet zero are dem sponsored bills.

Truth matters

:lmao:

You gotta give Shiff credit...he truly has no conscience and will say anything...the ba*** on this guy to be talking about the truth with regard to anything...every time I hear him talk all I can think about is George Costanza...it's not a lie if you believe it.

He is the biggest liar and traitor in Washington right now, hands down

Midnight is the darkest moment of the day, everywhere in the world.

But it is also the most hopeful because what comes after holds the promise of light.

America has a genius for reinvention, and we must use it.

Right matters. Truth matters. Democracy matters.

If truth matters why does he lie constantly. Why does he alter documents to suit his. Purposes.

Also  I think if we were look to actual Jim Crow Era laws. They would look nothing like laws trying to be passed today. Wonder if anyone has actually tried that?

Is there any shred of his information being false?  If so, please provide a link.
Prove a negative?  I mean. Yeah.  i bet there are ways to show others have lied more.  Id guess the Gaetz and Boebert types are close.

And calling him a traitor…pretty weak assertion too.

Lying under oath to impeach a President is a traitorous act to most moral Americans

Buffalo. Houston. Laguna Woods. Amarillo. Winston-Salem.

Five mass shootings in one weekend. Two hundred and three mass shootings so far this year.

It's easy to grow numb to the bloodshed. But it doesn’t have to be this way – we can stop this.

Here's how we start:

The gun industry has no incentive to support safety measures to keep guns out of the wrong hands.

So we need to hit them where it hurts: Their wallets.

That means passing laws that would ensure negligent gun makers and dealers are held to account.

I have the bill to do it.

It's called the Equal Access to Justice for Victims of Gun Violence Act.

It would repeal the law which makes the gun industry exempt from being sued in most cases.

Why should an industry that's done so much damage to America enjoy immunity?

Think about it.

When it was discovered the tobacco industry knowingly sold products that could kill Americans, victims could sue for damages.

Why shouldn't families torn apart by gun violence be able to do the same when gun dealers act negligently?

My bill would enable that.

I’ll fight for my Equal Access to Justice for Victims of Gun Violence Act.

That's just one solution. More are needed, like banning assault weapons and extended clips, and universal background checks.

We must end the cycle of violence.

Whatever it takes to keep our people safe.

Adam Schiff.

People still follow this guy?  Much less believe anything he says?  He makes trump look like a truthteller.

Hardly. 😆

WaPo documented over 30,500 false or misleading claims made by Trump when he was POTUS. You would have trouble coming up with probably more than a dozen with Schiff (if that, as we are still waiting for the unredacted version of the Mueller report, which is the basis of the so called "lies" that Schiff's critics claim he made).

Not disinformation. It was a fact that 49 states introduced new voter suppression laws at the time he wrote that.

No, it wasn't a fact.  It was one of your team's made up lies, fabrications, exaggerations and hyperbolic statements with no basis in reality.  Now THAT is a fact.

It was a fact and no one on this forum disputed it at the time or have subsequently until today by you.

Seriously, dude, you don't think that there were Republicans in 49 states who introduced voter suppression laws?

I get it now. New voting laws are to voter suppression as common sense gun reform is to 2A infringement.

In the John Lewis Voter Rights Act, I was on the record when the GA voter law came out that this would create more opportunity for Georgians to vote.  It was lazy for people to say it was suppression.  It's down right slanderous to call it Jim Crow 2.0.  But that's what politics is today.  Sound bites and hyperbole.  The crazier the sound bite, the more notoriety you get.

It is not slanderous because it is true. Truth is a defense to any slander or libel allegation.

So here is a link that lists a lot of examples of Jim Crow laws. https://www.ferris.edu/HTMLS/news/jimcrow/links/misclink/examples.htm

What part of the Georgia voter law resembles these? Anyone  have an answer? I would say no part resembles Jim Crow.

People who think otherwise obviously weren't alive when these laws were going on and are buying into propaganda.
